sincitylulu's check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

sincitylulu's check in

Post by sincitylulu » Sun Apr 11, 2010 11:09 pm

I am new to No-S. I plan to follow the plan as is except for the fact that my S days will be Friday and Saturday. Today is my 4th day. Doing great. I don't want to lose weight just as a way to help me maintain what I have already lost about 24 lbs or so. I hover up and down. I am looking to change my eating habits. I don't have a problem with sweets, seconds, only snacks. I will keep this updated.

Day 2: Success
Day 3: S Day (i was an idiot)
Day 4: S Day (or should I say idiot day again)

Day 5: Success. Weighed in this morning. I am up 3lbs from this past Friday. Current weight 111.8. That's what I get for eating too much. Hopefully I will not over do it on S days next time around. This no snacking stuff is really a tough habit to break.

B- 1 egg, organic oats, small banana, strawberries, latte
Lunch- grilled salmon, whole wheat tortilla, spinach salad with peppers, frozen banana with strawberries and almonds
Dinner: Chicken and broccoli casserole, veggies, half orange and some cherries

Day 8: Successful

I ate my usual breakfast oats, almond, banana, raisins, egg. Lunch was a PB sandwich with banana, cup of milk and cantaloupe. Dinner was a Subway Sweet Teriyaki Chicken sandwich, bag of baked lays, and cherries.

Yesterday was tough. For some reason I woke up super hungry so I had to eat earlier than usual. I was even hungry before lunch as well. I was just so hungry yesterday. Ended up having dinner at 4pm instead of 6pm. Thankfully I was not hungry after Dinner or else yesterday would have been a failure. I did get my 35 min of exercise in yesterday but really didn't feel like doing it. Morning weight 108.4.

Today and tomorrow are S days for me. This time I will do my very best not to over do it.
