Sarah's check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Went to see the nurse today for a check up, told her about this amazing diet and she was really impressed :D ... after 22 years of various eating disorders I think I have finally found something that just clicks... can't believe how simple this eating plan is, it almost seems too good to be true! Will weigh myself on Monday and hopefully will see a small loss.

you can do it! stay strong! remember - you may want that chocolate, but not like this. you want that chocolate on YOUR time, not the chocolate's time. You're in control, not the chocolate!

I hope you start feeling better soon! And I must say that I share your feelings about being amazed at how no S just clicks! :)
Sincerely,
Sarah H.

it sure is Sarah :D

So today is an S day and OMG I have been so over the top that I feel really really sick and have got a pounding headache!! I know that it's more important to get the N days established first so will concentrate on that... this is what I've eaten today (hopefully in the future I'll look back on this post and think GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!

1 LARGE bar of chocolate (looked at the calories through squinted eyes... 547!!!!!!!)
2 x buttered toast and marmite and grapes
Soured cream dip and whole LARGE bag of kettle chips
1/2 carrot
chocolate pudding and custard
2 x veg spring rolls
1 LARGE cup of banana milkshake

I did pop into Boots today and weighed myself on their scales and I've lost 1lb in 6 days which I was really happy about... but that was before the binge LOL

Hi there,
Thanks for stopping by. The garden party was great but I did manage to behave in a quite civilized not too conspicious manner maybe because most of the goodies were frozen

I think you should not worry too much, it was an S-day after all and that's what they are supposed to look like. Sometimes. In the beginning. Isn't it? It was lawful. I especially like the 1/2 carrot on your account. I bet your N-days benefit from that experience!

Hi Jonas, glad you had fun at the garden party :)

Yes you're right about the S days, shouldn't worry about them so much... I did notice how odd it felt to snack, which has got to be a good thing.

Today has been a fail... I've been ill with this stupid flu type bug so been comfort eating all day

Onwards and upwards!
