cant believe i ever left

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Welcome back! I rely heavily on the board in times where I find it a little harder to stick to the habits and it is the kindest, most supportive community I have ever come accross.

I'd recommend reading everything oolala has posted -- she is so inspirational. Our culture loves for us to be scared so we'll buy into all the crap. Let's fan the flames of peace and moderation.

Welcome back!! This board is very forgiving, and it takes as many times as it takes before we "get it". But it sure sounds like you are done being scared and trying so hard.

Welcome back. You can do this, one meal at a time. And if you fall off the wagon, you're only ever one meal away from being a sucess!

And hey, if you decide after a few months that you want to eat fewer carbs or whatever, the contents of your plate is up to you - No-S is compatible with all sorts of eating plans.

Joining a gym is a great step!

I noticed my blood sugar stabilising after a few months of NoS so I hope it's the same for you!

well going to check in with my habitcal. thanks so much for the support. i also will be checking in everyday i think that will also help. everyone else's posts are very helpful.

Hi there--
I noticed your goal weight is really low! Especially considering you are 48. OK, I'll assume you are 5'00''. I am 5'2'' and the top of my BMI is 135. Are you 5'00''? Otherwise I think you are really aiming pretty low on the weight thing! :)

Was just browsing around. Does your not posting mean things fell into place?
