Note these two sources regarding a rise in life expectancy AFTER the onset of increased sugar and snack consumption AND obesity in the U.S.

Life expectancy started to go up even more in the 70's even though weight increased.

But perhaps this helps explain it?

Sure, we live longer, but it looks like it's because we just spend more.
