back to shovelglove

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

back to shovelglove

Post by jules » Wed Jun 20, 2012 1:40 am

14 min went well yesterday. I had a bit of a tight back on my right side. To be safe, I took today as a yellow day. (No insurance, so I'm extra conservative with possible injuries.) I'm 99% sure it's just DOMS.

I did more than 14 min. of UR today so I did get 14 min. of physical activity.

The plan is to do a low-key 14 min. shovelglove session tomorrow.

Always a good policy, even if you're insured up the wazoo.

True story.

Things have been going well. I usually do about 4 min. of work with the Indian clubs during the last part of my 14 min. shovelglove session. I'll bump up the sledge work to 14 min. after I get re-accustomed to using some muscle. :D And do about 3-5 min. of Indian club work after.
