Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

I finally decided to get on the boards and join yall. I've been very interested in this concept for a while now and have finally put my feet in the water. My past has a diet graveyard in it. I also have problems with binge eating.
This is my 3rd day doing Vanilla No S and I've already lost 3 lbs. I'm very excited because I'm not obsesssing about food or diets while doing No S. Since doing this I haven't binged.
I look forward to this new journey.

Thanks for the welcome. Today was a success day! Tonight we had our family spaghetti night, so I skipped lunch in order to have a bigger plate for supper. So far all of my meals have been on salad plates. It seems to work for me.
B: chick fil a with fruit
L: none
D: spaghetti with bread

Today makes a week since I've started No S. I have lost 2 lbs. Even though it is slow which is expected, I'm happy. It has been a fun week and I didn't binge not one time. Any plan that keeps me from binging or obsessing about food is a winner in my opinion!

Congrats on your first week success. I swear it gets easier - I was so obssessed with food and the idea I was going hungry for about 2 weeks and then it all normalized. You'll find after a bit your S days will look a lot like N days (except for the sweets).
Great job
