Seraphic Queen checking in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Saturday June 3, day 1

Success! (Did not take an S day since I wanted to start the good habit--temperance--right away.)

Sunday, June 4

Success! (I couldn't fail--I took an S day. But, it was better than any past day recently. I had three meals on a plate and one snack which wasn't even sweet. Had no sweet craving, probably because it wasn't "just this one last time before I go on a diet.")

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Hope No-S gives you confidence and peace in your relationship with food.

Friday, June 9, Day 6

Failure!

And you know why--you cannot eat foods containing gluten. You have to accept this. They make you hungry because they don't nourish you properly due to your physical condition. Thank God there are plenty of other foods which do and begin again!

Saturday, June 10

I don't know yet whether it will be a success or failure. I just want to check in ahead of time. I intend to make it a No S day, even though it's Saturday. So, help me, Heavenly Protectors on this Day 1. I can't do it without you--help me remember that! And help me accept that I can't consume gluten. Thank you.

Saturday, June 10, Day 1

Failure! Too much sense of failure remaining from Friday. Forgetting the help which is available from my heavenly protectors.

Good luck SQ :)
Are you allergic to gluten?
Anyway... Believe in yourself!!!!

This is very hard work.. Our work here on earth is to gain a greater understanding and awareness or, some would say to develop a strong sense of consciousness...
The failures are spiritual lessons too, and we can learn much from them..
Don't be discouraged!
Acceptance, forgiveness and love...
Forget about Friday!

Have a good week!
Peace and Love,

Sunday, June 11, Day 1

Success! (How can an S day be anything but a success? I did treat it as a NoS day, though, since I wanted to get back on track.)
