I rarely weight myself but yesterday I did and I realised that in the past 2 years I have steadily lost 20 pounds. This means that my BMI has dropped from 34.5 (ish) to 30.8; I have gone from well into the 'obese' section to just above 'overweight'.
Over the past year I have mainly stuck to NoS. Other than the weekend I tend to think of S events rather than S days; just because I am going out for a special meal in the evening does not mean I get to eat what I want all day. My one non-vanilla item is that if I am hungry before bed I can have a small amount to eat for supper (I live in Yorkshire, supper is a thing there). Other than that I am pretty happy with vanilla NoS.
Very occasionally I will decide on the spur of the moment that an event is NoS but usually it is decided well ahead of time. |

CONGRATULATIONS!
That's a real good example of 'slow and steady wins the race' - many, many congratulations on building your consistency of habit! _________________ I love Everyday Systems :3

And that's what I love about no-s, success can sneak up on you without you even paying that much attention. Our habits really do make us who were are . . . And not just dietary habits either. Congratulations on your quiet success.
Oh, and I love that you have "supper". It brings back memories of my aunt who used the term. Most folks around here don't really know what it is. |

Congratulations! Slow and steady successes like this make me very happy.
Nice also to see how well No-S can be adapted for "localization!"
Best,

Thank you for sharing.
I am starting to see how slow and steady wins the race. I found NoS in September, and started with one NoS guideline at a time. Just this month I began following all 3 guidelines and so far so good. I really feel as if I can make this a lifestyle and your story helps with that thought! |

Welcome here, too! I've told people your approach can work, though it wasn't what I did. I can imagine for some people, it would be much more humane, as long as they didn't give up early. Thank you for letting us know. _________________ Count plates, not calories. Three a day. 8 years & counting
