Ironchef Testimonial - 3 Years on No S

(New!) Read (or post) about people who have stuck with No-S for 10 or more months, lost 10 or more pounds, or 10 or more percent for their starting weight. Periodic updates strongly encouraged -- you can think of it as "Yearly Check In."

Ironchef Testimonial - 3 Years on No S

Post by ironchef » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:36 am

The basics:
Female
Age 36
3.5 years on habit
Height 172cm (5'8")
Frame Small (wrist < 9cm)
During weight December 2015 60.5kg (133 pounds), BMI 20

Previous testimonials:
Year 1
Year 2

The bit where I blather on:
3 years in I remain the same weight.

Since I wrote my last update, I got pregnant again and my second child is now 6 months old. I modified No S rules during pregnancy and early breast feeding, but I'm now back to Vanilla No S, and back to my pre-pregnancy weight. In fact, looking back a long way, I am now at a lower weight than before I had my first child (I started No Sing just after he was born).

Because I am still nursing, I rarely drink any alcohol, and because I've got two little kids most of my meals are at home. Other than that I follow the rules of No S, with no mods.

I love this way of eating, and expect to continue for life.

As always, I'm grateful to Reinhard for his ideas, and for making this site available for free. Thanks to everyone who shares and contributes on this board, it has been invaluable.

Congrats on your success! And I can't believe BabyIronCh #2 is already six months old---I remember when your first was a newborn!

I'll join in you giving thanks to Reinhard and the great members on the boards. :D

3 years on no-s and 2 children -- that is no mean feat!

(my youngest has just given me "golfer's elbow" from excessive "uppy")

Congratulations all around and thank you for letting us know!

Good Lord, time does fly. How wonderful that you still feel so solid in this. Oh, how I wish young women could see this as a foundation. I'm not sure many would get to a BMI of 20, but No S can take them into and out of sane pregnancies. What a boon!

Thank you for blathering on.
Count plates, not calories. 11 years "during"

I missed this somehow iron! So awesome that you've been able to do NoS through your pregnancies and that it's now just the way you eat.

You've been such an inspiration to me and you've helped me get through some really rough moments. Thank you for all your kind, encouraging words (and honesty when I needed it).

We miss you on the check in but totally understand you're ready to just get on with the rest of your life now that your habits are fully established.

Enjoy those little ones!

Thank you everyone! I'm not around much lately, but so nice to come here and ready all your lovely messages.

oolala, I totally agree. In my dieting 20's there is no way I would have believed something as simple as moderation could get me through 2 pregnancies to end up lighter than when I started. If only 36 year old me could go back and explain to 26 year old me :)

Well at least other 20-year-olds are hearing your message. Thank you for that :)
