emails going to SPAM

Post by oolala53 » Tue Sep 05, 2017 4:51 am

Anyone else having problems with Reinhard's emails going to SPAM? I think it happened once before, and it's not everyone's. I don't get it. I thought he was in my contacts.

You mean messages from the board? Yes, some of them end up in spam for me too. I am not sure I entered the address in my address book though (duh! I work customer service and tell people to do that all the time if they aren't getting our newsletters!)

If Reinhard sends out some other kind of email, tell me more!

All the updates on any threads for No S come from Reinhard's gmail address, at least for me.

I should try to keep track of which ones go to SPAM. It's actually usually the individual check-in threads. Maybe some individuals have something in some post along the way that looks like SPAM to the filter feature. Though THIS one on SPAM went to the SPAM folder!

I'm getting more used to just checking the SPAM folder every day or two. I found four today.

The ones that went there today were Tortie, Tex Ark, and Kaia's, plus my thread on SPAM .

Update on the 10th: add Teach5.

Oh! I must not have selected notifications for thread updates--I only get emails for private messages.

I think every time you either look at a thread and certainly if you reply, you get updates. I think! There's always a link offered to discontinue notices.

But there is no way to be notified if there are new threads.

I must have opted out, I never get updates about replies!

At least on the general board, at the bottom left on my screen, it says Stop watching this topic. I thought the system assumes we want to see the next comment. I'd have to be very purposeful to do opt out. At least I think so. I don't ever remember clicking on anything to watch a topic here

But for check in threads, in the same place, it says "watch this topic for replies."

I'm so nosy, it was hard to find a thread I had never looked at to see what it said if I'd never followed it!

It's pretty small writing and there's no icon.

I'm surprised you keep up with everything as well as you do! I watch so many people, I get 7 or 8 emails a day. It's kind of a drug of choice for me.

I just come to the board and click down the list of topics with new posts! Then if I still have time left, I check the check-in topics that have new posts. I visit most evenings to update my Habitcal, so...I'm here.

Maybe it was a selection when I set up my profile? I think I told it to only email if there was a private message (because I wouldn't be as likely to see that.)

ETA--yup, just checked--it is a selection in the profile.

LOL, no I didn't! I just rely on the little yellow box to tell me what's new and move down the list.
