KCCC's 2019 Holiday Check In

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Hi, are you the same KCCC that was here a few years ago? Not that it matters . . . I just remember the handle.

In any case welcome. Personally, I visit sporadically but it's always nice to see a familiar face.

Yup, it's me. Home for the holidays!

Most of the year, I do fine. During the holiday season, my habits need shoring up. So you'll see me around this time each year.

Gradually getting back into the swing of things. Thursday I forgot and had a store sample, but I didn't "wreck the car" after. Technically a red, but I count it a win. Friday evening is S for me (and Saturday is an N), because it fits better with my life. I stayed green until the evening get-together.

I so hear you about the holidays! I really don’t want to go off the rails this year. Basically I would like to just do a few more S days between a Thanksgiving and New Years, none of which are crazy, and otherwise stay on my usual eating routine.

Hang in there! I think it's an advantage that the season between txgiving and Christmas this year is a little shorter.
Count plates, not calories. 11 years "during"

There is no S better than Vanilla No S (mods now as a senior citizen)

Hi, I’ve just read your post about the phases of NoS after starting on Monday and wondered if you are still around. Delighted to see you are! Hope the holidays went well for you.
