Very Good Blog. These are the things that help us keep going. I have been on NO S since June 1, the last couple of days I have been bad, but I dont get discouraged, just remember one day isnt going to get me down. I am still down 3 or 4 pounds from when I started but my goal is a pound a week so I have to get going I am behind.

OK, Blueskighs and No S Dieter have inspired me to start my own NoS blog as well. I think it will help me stay on track. (Plus, it's kind of fun!)

Please feel free to stop by and comment on what you find there: http://anothernosblog.blogspot.com

I also took the opportunity to post my weight loss autobiography on my blog -- I never did anything like that before, but I found it extremely beneficial in getting some perspective. I highly recommend doing that.

Randall,

Very Nice Job! on your blog.

Your weight loss autobiography is really well done with all the pictures. Reading through it I can relate to a lot. I didn't start gaining weight until I was a teenager either but since then I have also tried many "diets" and "methods" of weight loss but none have been sustainable.

I am having a LOT of faith in No S, especially after doing it for almost 4 months.

Glad you are here and REALLY glad you are doing your blog. I WOULD JUST LOVE IT if NO S was as popular and well-known as ATKINS or LOW CARB!

I just think it would change so many lives for the better,

An excellent addition to the roster, thank you Randal!

In diet as in finance, there's nothing like transparency to keep you honest :-)

I'm going to make this thread "sticky" so it floats to the top and is easy to find for No-s diet bloggers/blog readers and link to it from the home page.

Looking forward to many new additions,

Reinhard

Hello everyone,
I am new here so this is my first post I think..

I am spreading the words here in Iceland, I haven't seen it nor heard from this diet here, so I think I am one of the first to try. Hope everybody hears from it because I think this is GREAT idea!

I do have blog, but I am not sure you will be able to understand what it says ;) (At least nothing negative, and I also let them now where I get the text from, if I copy something)

Good Morning Everyone,

I just though I'd pop in here this morning to add and sing my praises for the No S diet. I just don't have words to express how thankful I am that I have found this diet plan. It is the first time in years that I've been able to actually make a dent in these extra pounds. The thing I like the most is the complete simplicity and I can follow this even when life gets somewhat chaotic, which I think happens to all of us.

I've shown a weight loss for 4 weeks straight since I've started the No S diet plan which has added up to exactly 5 pounds gone so far! :D I am so enthusiastic that I've been trying to share this with everyone I know. I want to loose about 45 more pounds, and this is the first time in a long time that I really feel like I can do it!!

It is good to read everyone's posts here and see all the positive reinforcement! Best wishes to all,
Sunnyside

I FOUND THIS AT THE LIBRARY

Post by tiredofsayingiamiwill » Thu Sep 04, 2008 3:14 pm

OKAY I WAS AT THE LIBRARY THE OTHER DAY AND PICKED THIS BOOK UP AS I DO ALL DIET BOOKS THAT STRIKE MY FANCY. I ALMOST PUT THIS ONE BACK. I THOUGHT O LORD I AM GOING TO READ SOMETHING ELSE THAT WILL NOT WORK FOR ME. I READ WELL SKIMMED IT AND I BEGAN TODAY. I ATE A CHICKEN SALAD SANDWHICH SANDWHICH FOR BREAKFAST SKIPPED THE FAKE SUGAR IN MY COFFEE AND FEEL CONFIDENT. I TOLD MY HUSBAND ABOUT IT AND HE JUST GRIMMACED AND SAID THE ABS DIET IS WHAT WORKS. I SAID WELL WHY ARE YOU FAT AGAIN IF IT WORKS SO WELL? THE POOR MAN IS SO TIRED OF MY DIET ADVICE AFTER 10 YEARS OF WATCHING ME TRY TO LOSE THE BABY WEIGHT... DO YOU BLAME HIM. SO I WILL LOSE WEIGHT IF I FOLLOW THIS?

I'm relatively new here...I'm currently on Day 41. I hate scales & the numbers always throw me for a loop. So I've decided not to weigh myself...it's not worth the emotional upheaval for me.

I have, however, been wearing clothes that didn't fit 40 days ago so I know I've lost. But the best thing is that I feel as if I'm learning to control my food instead of my food controlling me. So if I learn that, then I will eventually be the weight I should be, even if it takes longer than I want it to. My ultimate goal is to just eat like a healthy person....period. So...in answer to your question, Yes, I do believe if you follow this plan you WILL lose weight....and you WILL be healthy.

Welcome, tiredofsayingiamiwill!

I've collected a bunch of impressive success stories here:

http://nosdiet.com/testimonials.html

And there are actually quite a few more scattered throughout the bulletin board. I just set up a "testimonials forum" yesterday to make it easier to find, post, and update this kind of thing.

Just for the record Reinhard, I am going to post my first "testimonial" on your new thread at my very close six month mark, then update as you suggest at one year and hopefully there after :D

Thanks for putting the testimonials together, great idea and hope folks use it to motivate themselves and others for the long haul!

I'm New - and I have a Blog

Post by PrettyPetunia » Tue Mar 10, 2009 10:13 am

Hi,

I am new to the No-S program. I started about a week ago. So far I like it a lot - it's the easiest diet to follow that I've ever tried and I think it's one that I won't tire of.

I have a blog, if you would like to check it out.

I've just begun the No S Diet and I'm excited about using a tool that makes so much sense making a difference in our lives! We so often overlook the obvious in our to overcome difficulties.

This is my first time ever participating in a blog. Would like input on others experiences with the diet and also with the blog board.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to post and let you know that a team on the Spark People web site has been started up following the No S Diet plan. I'm so happy to see that the word is spreading and people everywhere are starting to find a diet plan that is really a way of life! For those who have not heard of "Spark People", it is a free diet web site with lots and lots of features that are commonly offered at a fee from similar sites..... i.e., food tracking, exercise logging, etc.

Best wishes,
Sunny

P.S. Good luck to all the new No S folks and I hope you all will have a lot of success following this plan.

Hope everyone is doing great!

April 6th, 2009. DAY 1!!!

Post by EricaCanLose » Mon Apr 06, 2009 7:15 pm

I just started TODAY!!!!
I skimmed through the NoS book in Barnes and Noble about a month ago and thought "oh, yeah ok whatever, seriously?? what's the catch here" and then figuring it would just be another waste of money I decided to buy it.
After 3 weeks or so of not even opening the book I finally decided to at least read it and give this idea a chance. The more I read the book the more I couldn't put it down! All I could think of was the V8 commercials where they hit people on the forehead for being stupid "DUH! Of course Excess is my problem!" I'm 19 years old and so sick and tired of carrying around more weight than necessary. When it comes right down to it I just want to feel good about the way I look.

I think the Blog idea is pretty amazing and I love all of the blogs that are on here. I'm setting up my blog right now and I plan to have a link to all of the great blogs of you more experienced NoS-ers to keep me motivated! :P

Love the blog, spleener (and the title -- I love that movie! I first saw it in German and I think it sounds even better in that language "Soylent Grün ist Menschenfleisch!").

That no-s brings back the shared family meal is to me not only a great "side benefit," but to my mind a clue to its fundamental rightness compared to the compartmentalized eating encouraged (or even required) by most other diets. Breaking bread together, shared, communal eating, is the most basic social act. With low carb you lose both the literal bread and (far more importantly) the figurative bread of community.

It is also referenced frequently in the Bible. Sitting down to a meal together and sharing time and conversation is something we are meant to do. It's fundamental to our wellbeing and the bluezones (longevity hotspots) all do this still and give it the importance it deserves.

I have a blog I am working on. I like the visual reinforcement, so it's mostly food photos at the moment. I will probably add some more thoughts on the plan as I get more green days under my belt.

I was thinking about posting recipes, if I can figure out how to do a cut on there. I really love to cook things that are healthy but comforting and kid friendly.

I just finished my first week of the visual table and I'm down 7 pounds. I have no idea why. I do know I have had moments where I spent a few extra minutes on cooking or made a better choice because I knew I would be taking a picture of it. I had one fail day, but it was a couple of gingersnaps and not a huge deal.
I'll keep going with this as long as it's helping me stay accountable and adding a little fun to my day.

I thought I'd go ahead and make one. I also mention other stuff (surprise, surprise...) like Curves. It's only 3 posts, and I'm new to the diet, but you're welcome to take a peek... :0)

Hello. Newbie here - well new to No S, old hand at dieting! I've just started a No S Diet blog to keep me honest...

I started at Spark People, Jan 2010, but have only dialup out here in the boonies and it was taking way. too. long. I still log my exercise minutes there and enjoy the supportive teams I belong to: Liberal Atheist Hippies, True Bood/SVM Fans - you name it, SP has a team to go with it!

My blog can be found at: http://nos4diet.blogspot.com Not much there yet, but might even attempt some plate pictures, as I've been enjoying bizzybee's 21 meals blog. Also can relate to wrangling animals & children bizzybee!

ETA: on hold until we can get something faster then satellite internet access, as the photos take forever to upload :( hopefully will be able to start up again in the not too distant future

I've been doing No-S for so long that I rarely write about it anymore, but I do write about it from time to time (along with shovelglove) at my blog A Sound Body: http://asoundbody.wordpress.com

It also covers a tonne of other topics.
Shovel glove? Isn't that the size of prophylactic I use?

I am happy that there are so many people, who use diets and even write a blog about it. Because reading those blogs gives me hope and will to use a diet to!

Post by nosnos » Tue Aug 14, 2012 2:30 pm

Hi,
I just wrote a (rather long!) article on squidoo about no s- Is it ok to post that here?

If anyone is interested it can be found at
http://www.squidoo.com/nosdiet

Hopefully it will encourage a few more people to this wonderful way of eating :)

jw suggested I add a link to my weblog so here it is:

OK By Xmas: A Gift To Myself

There's a 'before' shot and there will be monthly progress shots until Christmas but I think they'll be pretty underwhelming in the amazing change department if I lose at a steady but gradual pace.

I'll probably keep going with the blog after Christmas, of course!

I made my first post talking about No S: http://nikkidoesthings.tumblr.com/post/ ... -this-will
Don't worry, I won't be linking every post.
Too bad it seems that none of the other blogs linked here are still active.

I think maintaining a blog is even harder than sticking to a diet. :-)
