Hypothyroidism

Post by snazzybabe » Sun Nov 27, 2005 10:26 am

I just had my thyroid checked and it came back underactive. No wonder I have been feeling lousy and finding it hard to lose weight. The results were:
TSH: 8.93 (normal 0.50 - 3.50)
The symptoms I have been feeling are moodiness, low sex drive (or should I say no sex drive), cold, bloating, memory loss, fatigue etc.
I'm glad I had the blood test because now I know what's wrong with me and I can start to fix it.
Just a reminder to anyone who isn't feeling right to have some blood work done and not keep putting it off like I did.

Sorry Snazzy,
Feeling lousy stinks...
What about diet? Did you get any advice concerning your nutrition?
Hope you feel better soon... I guess they are going to give you some meds or something...
Good for you on getting to the root of your symptoms..
Keep investigating and learning..
Love and Hugs,

Thanks Deb. Its good to know I'm not going insane and that there is definitely something medically wrong with me.
Doc will put me on meds next week. I will still eat low carb (not that I have been sticking to it lately - what with all the sugar cravings).
Take care,
Sue

Feel better...

And you will feel better. I understand from others that it can be a bit of a roller coaster until you get the level just right, but then it's smooth sailing. Good luck!

I'm hoping it will be a short roller coaster ride. Thanks Kevin.
