This weekend has been fine as far as meals go, however I have overindulged in chocolate. No idea why I still feel the need to do this. Luckily I have stuck to no snacks so the chocolate has only been after meals.

Today - success. Husband finally home after several weeks away and it was so nice to all sit round the table and enjoy a roast dinner together.

Today - success. Dinner out with the family, my meal came on a long rectangle plate which threw me a bit! But I reckon I did OK and ate what would fit on a regular plate at home.

Today I had marked as a non weekend special day, however the meal out with friends had to be postponed due to illness. So I have had a normal NoS day and will adjust my May challenge chart accordingly.

Had a nice weekend at home catching up on chores and gardening, and taking the boys to their self defence classes. Have done a fair bit of home cooking which has been nice, we've enjoyed eating as a family. Weather has been lovely so we've been eating outside a bit.
Treats today have been homemade banana loaf, seconds at lunchtime, and homemade apple crumble and cream.
I put on a pair of cropped jeans today which were way too tight last summer and they fit me easily, so I guess that shows I have made good progress. Slow but steady definitely suits me.

Today - success. I am definitely a creature of habit. Today I had leftover dinner from yesterday for my lunch, beef casserole with carrots, parsnips, peas and potatoes. It was delicious but - I found myself missing my usual sandwich fruit and yoghurt! Laughing
Back to my usual fare tomorrow!

A very good week. And congrats on the pants fitting.

Enjoy your S days- even if you end up having no S's.

Thanks oolala😊
Bought a few more clothes today, felt quite good in them, in fact I am feeling pretty accepting of my body right now. I know I am still overweight, and have been thinner than this at several periods over the years, but I have never really just been able to feel comfortable in my own skin. Its really significant actually, to feel at peace with how I look. Sure, I could still write a long list of my imperfections, but they don't upset me like they used to. NoS has shown me that it is OK to be me.
Had a good weekend with a family BBQ at our house, I enjoyed my Sweets and seconds, still no snacks because of braces. I hope I can keep up no snacks at weekends, I don't really need or want them.
Today back to normal even though it is a bank holiday and I am on a week's half term holiday with my husband and the boys. We're off camping on Weds for 4 nights, I hope the weather cheers up, very grey and drizzly here in the UK!

I felt okay about my body when I started No S, even though I was almost the fattest I'd ever been. It seemed useless to judge it much, since I wasn't willing to eat a lot less, etc. Not to say there weren't moments I'd catch a look at myself and have a chill go through me, but I felt I'd learned how to "present" myself better, and I just didn't see the heaviness as much. I see pictures from before and am actually amused by big I am in them.

I know one thing. I'd rather be heavy and okay with it, than thin and wishing I was thinner.

Couldn't agree more. I never felt thin enough, even at my thinnest. Crazy how we are conditioned into thinking that thin=good/attractive. Its taken me a long time to start to undo that way of thinking.
Today - success.

So I am checking in after a few days holiday away with my family, where I indulged in far too many Ss. I have only put on a pound but it is alarming how quickly I fell back into bad habits. Back on it today, feels much better to be in control again.

I feel that way, too, after all my years. They're so attractive and available, and cheap! I can ruin my day for a buck.

Today was a postponed birthday meal for my closest friend. In fact we had a very healthy plate of sea bass, veg and new potatoes and my only S was a slice of lemon tart. One glass of fizz. Very nice to spend time with her and our other friend, our boys are all on their very first residential trip tonight so we were able to offer each other a bit of solidarity and enjoy a lovely meal together. I am marking as a special day.

Thanks Merry it really was Smile I don't have a huge social circle or indeed a busy social life, but the close friends I do have are very important to me. So nice to just do the simple things - share a meal, have a chat and support each other.
Today - success.

A fairly good weekend, had a few treats with meals but nothing outrageous. Enjoyed some time with my family and got lots of chores done. I have an extremely annoying cough which is getting me down a bit, but apart from that all is good.

Ipearlmom - No problem😊 I'm not always one to join in with debates but your reply really resonated with me and I couldn't keep quiet! Completely agree with what you were saying. To my mind NoS is so different to any other diet and I'm so pleased to have finally found it in my 40s. I think it's important to keep the true message and spirit of NoS alive on these boards.

Today - success.

After 8 and a half months of NoS and having made such progress with my eating, I finally feel ready to face my next demon - exercise. I have a huge mental block about fitting in formal exercise. I will make excuses forever to not do it. I think I see it as an extra chore, alongside work and running the house and being a mum, it just feels too much. However, I know that i am doing myself no favours by avoiding it and am currently very unfit which is not a nice feeling. I am going to try and fit in 3 sessions ler week, these will have to be at home as my husband works away a lot so I cannot make a regular commitment to a class or gym session.
Well I've said it now so I'd better get on and do it!
I have had a very S meal out with my boys today, 3 courses, I really enjoyed it but do feel rather full now. Back to normality tomorrow.

I've never gotten the consistent exercise thing down. It just seems easier NOT to do something (eat) than to DO something. Don't be afraid to start with just a few minutes at a time. I have occasionally worked up some streaks by starting with 4 minutes of vigorous moves, akin to Shovelglove except without the sledge hammer, and working up to some days of 11 and some days of 14 minutes. It's a bit embarrassing for me because I'm always telling people that regular exercise is even more associated with longevity than slimness is.

I hope you get inspired! I give you permission to rub my face in it, though I know you won't. But you may be secretly smug about it with my blessings.

I was at the year mark before I started trying to exercise somewhat regularly. I keep a habitcal for that too, but I don't do red days. I do green if I do 14 minutes of a workout (any type), and I do yellow if I do 14 or more minutes of walking. That way each month I can at least see how many days I did *something.* Most of the time, I'm motivated to want to get something on my calendar if I go to mark my habitcal for No-S and see blanks on my exercise calendar, LOL! Hang in there, you can do this!

Thank you Merry and Oolala, I really appreciate your honesty and understanding. Oolala I don't think I will feel smug if I manage to achieve anything resembling an exercise routine, more likely I will feel puffed out and sweaty ha ha! Laughing
Merry I like the idea of making a habitcal for exercise, I think that could help me too.
Well I've made some progress in that I have found a good website with free exercise routines, and one in particular which seems appropriate for beginners which is definitely me! I haven't followed it yet, legitimate reason though, visiting mother in law in hospital this evening.
Tomorrow, who knows, I will try!
Eating today was success. Having a bit of a heatwave here in the UK (That's anything approaching 30' to us Brits!) and I find it easier to eat less in the heat.

We're having unseasonably hot weather in the southwest U. S.: 38 to 47 deg. Celsius, but I am not there. Will be in three days. We cut our trip in the area a day short because of it.

Got to warn you: when I've been in situations that dampened my appetite, it came roaring back when the situation ended. That doesn't mean you have to obey it; just know what it is.

TONS of free exercise stuff on web.

Thank you oolala I shall try and prepare myself for potential appetite surge!
Well I sort of made a tiny start, 15min walk around the block while my son went on his scooter, was reasonably brisk as I was trying to keep up with him! Not really long enough but still so hot here. My legs ache in the heat.
(See, more excuses!)
Food was success.

Success, although a rather calorific dinner as we had takeaway fish and chips. I did stick to one plate but I usually try and leave the batter on the fish - this evening I just had an urge to eat the lot! I have to be honest and say that it was delicious, although not something I think I would want to eat too frequently.

Oh man I miss proper fish and chips after reading that Very Happy

I hope you will forgive my tuppence-worth on your post about exercise. I grew up in a household where neither parent ever did any exercise. I never did any exercise myself as a result, it just wasn't something that occurred to me to do and my brother was jut the same. I started to do exercise (volountarily outside of P.E lessons) at the very end of high school, but only sporadically until I started dieting in my late 20s, when I got more regular about it I really wish I'd had a head-start when I was younger. Funnily my mum now goes to half a dozen exercise classes a week now that she's retired, she also wishes she'd given some time and thought to exercise when we were kids.

In short, I think by keeping this up, it'll have many, many benefits. Go You Very Happy Very Happy

Thank you Skycat for your thoughts, I do appreciate them. (And apologies for making you think of fish and chips!)
It sounds as if we had similar upbringings, in fact I sometimes look back and wish my parents had helped me find a passion for some form of exercise. I am very conscious of this as a parent and have managed to find a self defence class that my boys love, my 13 year old does 3 hours a week out of choice and I have noticed a huge difference in his fitness levels, coordiantion and self confidence. I hope that it will follow him and my other son through to adulthood in some shape or form.
I am going to make myself a very mini target of doing the half hour fitness video I found online, this weekend. You have to start somewhere, right? I will report back!
Food today was success.

Well I did achieve my mini target, on Sunday morning I put on my fitness video and managed 30 minutes of not particularly vigorous exercise! I am aching today which is because my muscles are so out of use, I did feel very weak during the video and it just goes to show how much I need to do this. It wasn't awful and I can see it as something to get doneand ticked off.
So next mini target is to do it twice more this week.
Food has been Ok over the weekend, I enjoyed a few sweets and seconds, but as usual no snacks.
Today - success
