Wow, this is too perfect, and from Brian Wansink no less (I cite him repeatedly in the book with evidence supporting the other "esses," but this is the first I've heard from him regarding weekends).

I haven't looked too carefully at the source, so read this with a grain of salt. You can find research on either side but I'm more convinced by the 2 or 3 meal a day crowd. Would be interested in other people's thoughts:

Just looked at that last link, very interesting! I usually leave around 5 hours between meals. Breakfast (on a working day) 7am, lunch 12.30, dinner 5.30/6pm. I like to eat my dinner early because a) I am hungry and b) it gives me a longish time between last meal of the day and breakfast the next day.
Strangely I never feel hungry in the evenings, my dinner fills me up and I'm done. I used to snack in the evenings for the sake of it, I can't even imagine doing that now!

Very interesting. There was a question in the comments about caloric drinks (or coffee/tea with sugar/milk etc...), and they said that could mess with the cycle too. I might consider trying some alterations to see what happens.
