Hi. I'm new. I've been following this plan for a week. I love it! I already feel like I will never "diet" again. I have read just about every thread on this board so I will know what to expect. Some of you are VERY motivational! So happy to be here :D

Since you've read a lot, you know it's a process that includes different amounts of adjustment at different times for different people. It's rare for all of that to happen in a few weeks or months and then the person sails off into the sunset. Yes, it CAN happen, but if that's expected and it doesn't happen, it can really mess things up. The good news is your chances of your stumbling on a better fit fast are even worse, so you might as well invest your time here well. It's certainly less painful than many alternatives.

Exactly. It almost feels like its not a diet. Like its what you would revert to if you were going off a diet - except for the important differences of not overeating, not snacking, and not eating garbagy sweets. I think WHEN I mess it up, I will go back to the drawing board of... eating this way! LOL

There have been plenty of times where I have given up on diets and just eaten "regularly," omitting any thoughts of calories, points, carbs, etc. The only thing I was really missing was the snacking part, which I totally bought into as a necessary part of daily living.

That being said, I haven't really had a particularly hard time with the snacking or the seconds part. And though I love sugar, I am perfectly willing to wait for S days. It just seems so logical, with the added benefit of losing weight.

I am just overly grateful to be on a plan that does not involve counting or planning really. Just eat at meal times. Its too simple almost. Fingers crossed! I think the damage I will do will be on S days that are special occasions. Times at parties with buffets and whatnot. But also I have definitely noticed myself not as hungry as I was before, so that's a bonus.

Let's not call it damage. Let's just say that SOME celebretory eating can leave you pretty full on that day. Limited to the essential ones per year, it keeps the specialness and comes out in the wash.

Its funny because I instantly came up with my own special days, which I know is not the exact plan, but I am fine with normal eating on most holidays. Probably not Thanksgiving, though. And actually when I compared my list of special days with the calendar, I realized they were almost always on a Saturday or Sunday anyway, so that works out. My hubby and I only go out a few times a year so I am always worried whenever I start a new eating plan that it will interfere with those times. But this one does not! Hooray!

Welcome, Splandrea! Welcome to the No-S tribe. I myself like to think of it as "the No-S horse." Currently, it may look like it's thrown me off, but that's just me, losing my balance, hehe. As for you, beginner's enthusiasm is a good thing. WELCOME & LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOUR ONGOING PROGRESS
Ahh... relief!
