Back... again LOL

Post by FarmerHal » Mon Jan 22, 2018 2:39 am

I keep trying all kinds of other diets. Couple of my friends are doing whole 30, one of mine went on a year long extremely low carb diet and is very thin, but eats bascially chicken and veggies! Yikes.

I tried low carb but it kinda takes the joy out of being a person!

Anyway, I do listen to my belly, and it’s best foods (for a quiet belly, not gassy or painful) and happy heart rate/blood pressure (resting heart rate will be in the 70s if a food disagrees with me- and usually I have other symptoms, along with a “poundy†heart) are beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, eggs, cooked veggies, and fruits like raspberries, strawberries, oranges and grapes.

I had Lyme disease for 17 years undiagnosed, and the fun part about that is that it gave me random food issues. For a while I couldn’t handle beef, then I was ok wiht beef, then it was severe allergic reaction to corn and corn derived things, Wheat became and stayed an issue, so I try very hard to not eat it.

Anyway, a little bit about me. I try to stay busy, I homeschool my kids and have chickens and goats and love to garden, so that helps.

I need to form GOOD habits, and a healthy relationship wiht food. Much of my over eating issues are emotional (lonely, stress- Iâ€m a very nervous person, ugh) and boredom.

SO. Back to noS. Vanilla. Did just enjoy my once a week S, a delicious fudge brown (wheat, I know, but just once this week! Yum!)

New habits. It’s ok to be hungry sometimes. I will not die if I don’t eat between meals. Eating because of worry or stress or loneliness will solve no problem.

I really, really really need to learn to stick with noS, as it makes the most sense, absolutely, of any way of eating!

Sorry I strayed, I’m back now, and probably lurking mode tho! :)

Hello! I read what you wrote in the Why You Quit thread....and boy do I think we are the same person! Ha. Dieting since childhood. Military Family. A kid learning our behaviors. Leaving No-S for the shiny plans that are miserable.

Just wanted to say....I understand!!! I am struggling just like you. My mind is my biggest enemy. Today is Monday...and after two s days that were somewhat sane I started to try to convince myself I needed more. Why???? Ugh.... instead, we can just eat normal food three plates a day...and stop obsessing!!! Let’s do this thing!!!

Welcome :) I identify with a lot of what you are saying. No S is a game changer if we can just trust in it and keep doing it! I know how hard that ‘if’ can be. Wishing you the best of luck on your NoS journey.

How's your first month back gone? It's okay if it's been rocky. Or maybe it's been so easy that you've moved on to other things!
