Strong is strong...

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Strong is strong...

One of my goals is to be able to do 20 pull-ups as I once could do (when I was, you know, young and tough). I started shovelgloving in earnest again just a month or so ago. Today, I walked by a pull up bar (well, monkeybars, but they fit the bill) and did three. Six weeks ago, I couldn't do one.

I really like this program.

Hey Kevin, that's cool!! Just keep adding one more every so often and you will soon be doing the full 20! Shovelgloving is fun, isn't it!

That's fantastic, Kevin. It's been a long time, but I remember (to use Kai's phrase) how "humbling" the pullup bar can be. I wish they still had monkeybars around here... no wonder kids today are such weenies.

Being able to brachiate is truly a sign of strength. I mean, how strong are monkeys? (see subject for correct answer.)
