Accursed mild illness!

Post by ThomsonsPier » Thu Feb 14, 2008 5:45 pm

Hi-de-ho, chaps (and chappesses).

I've just come across an unusual side effect of this sensible eating lark in association with the common cold. Since starting on No-S, my refined sugar consumption has dropped to practically nil and (what there was of) my sweet tooth has almost entirely vanished.

I'm in the position of having a mild cold and sore throat at the moment and have, as many do, resorted to lozenges of the astringent variety to quell the unpleasant sensations in the neck region. Aware that a healthy diet is jolly useful in these circumstances, I've been trying to eat properly and found that I have no appetite at all because of all these nasty sugary throat soothing things; trying to eat, in fact, makes me feel slightly sick.

Bah. And humbug. And grumble. And grumble again.

It's a trick. Get an axe.

I had the opposite problem yesterday - I felt like poo and snacked all day long trying to comfort myself. I'm still feeling sick today, but am back to my regular meals - eating like I did yesterday was surprisingly unsatisfying! Which is good! :)
