Day three for me

Post by Jillio » Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:31 pm

I found the book at our local books-a-million and I thought to myself..."Huh, that kind of makes sense" .....sat down & read about 10 pages and had to buy the book.

I'm not quite half-way through the book but it has totally 'clicked' with me and I find myself excited about the possibilities of actually being able to stick with this for my entire life.

I started the year off with Weight Watchers, hoping to lose about 30 lbs and lost six easily but got so sick of writing down, counting, blah, blah, blah. So I quit (imagine that).

THANK YOU so much for making it so easy...so incredibly easy to just do it. I know there will be days that are harder than others to stick to the no snacks/no sweets (I don't usually have a problem w/no seconds) so I'm here for the support.

Hope I can give as much support as I receive. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Jill :D

Welcome, Jill!

No-s starts out as hard as it gets. If you can soldier on through a few weeks of compliance, habit starts to take over, and it gets easier and easier. I find this is a very motivating thing to keep in mind if it seems hard initially. It's the exact opposite of most other diets that start out seeming easy ("who needs carbs when you can eat unlimited steak?", "counting is fun!") and become unbearable.

Best of luck and looking forward to hearing more from you,

Reinhard

P.S. I'm thrilled to read all these posts from people who discovered the book in stores.

Welcome Jill!

I started about 15 months ago, lost about 22lbs now. Some days it's a struggle. Sometimes I have a bad week. But it does get easier and easier to form good habits.

I went on a diet for a couple of years. Went from 206lbs to 170 by counting calories. Didn't matter what it was that I ate but I made sure to write it down and add up all my calories. I was also doing a lot of running.
Fast forward to present day with 2 small kids and it's darn near impossible to figure out the calories and write it all down.
NoS is so SANE! :)

Looking forward to hearing from you on your road to success!
