The "S" days are part of what motivates and keeps a person going. That doesn't mean you HAVE to have sweets/seconds/snacks on those days--but that you have that freedom. Have you read the book? I found that really helped me understand the reason for S days and a lot of the thinking behind the plan--it was very helpful for me.Jess wrote:What if we do all days as No S, and no N days in-between at all. I do that much of the time, but I have been doing this for over 5 years. There is no rule that you HAVE to have any sweets, seconds or snacks on the weekend. The rules say "Sometimes".
BUT it is supposed to be a safety valve, and it is designed to let you live a normal life with your family and friends and so that NoS doesn't become a burden. I think most people would quit the system early on, if they started out being too restrictive, but it is up to you.

You asked for advice and feedback. I can tell you from six years on this board, that, yes, people do find it challenging, and it often backfires. I wish there was a way to gather all the posts of people who regret modifying the plan without having adhered to the basics first for several months. I"m sure they far outnumber those who were successful at it. Even if all the successful ones come out of the woodwork, it doesn't change the odds. I gently suggest you plan at least one S this weekend. Learning to have extras in moderation and then go back to the basics is also part of habit formation.

Thanks for that oolala - I've been doing No S for 8 months now - successfully - and still find that I toy with the idea of modifying my S days to try to 'control' myself. I've just listened again to Podcast 34 about S days gone wild - so helpful. The No S behavioural system really does work, as long as you trust it, and work it. Good luck!
