***SEE OFFICIAL RECIPES THREAD***
Please slap me smartly on the cheek if there is already a recipe thread somewhere. I didn't see one (but I didn't look too hard). I thought it might be a good idea to have a place where we can come together and talk about the food. The real, actual food that we put in our mouths day after day.
So if you have a favorite recipe that fills you up just right, or even a whole meal that you've found perfectly fits a 10-inch dinner plate, share it here so we can all drool over it and imitate it later.
It should be refreshing to see some "real food" answers, since, as Thalia pointed out, other diet forums have recipe sections filled with, well, crap.
Let's talk about food.
(Food porn - aka, photos - welcome.)

8-bit is still awesome.
There may not be an actual recipe thread, but some that will have recipes/menus...
First, there's the "intelligent dietary defaults" stickied above.
Then there's all the individual thread on the Daily Check-in board. Many people list what they actually eat on their personal threads.
Finally, Wosnes posted a wonderful thread about depression-era cooking that included recipes from then, and I believe others added theirs.
Lots of resources - people really do eat REAL FOOD on the board. (Or not, if they're not ready for it. There's no mandate.)

oops
Oops--I started one too before I saw this one. We can merge our comments onto one of these and get Reinhard to delete the other one. (He's the only person who can "delete" a thread.

oops again!
Vintage,
I added a recipe a little while ago with the intention of adding it to this thread and having Reinhard delete the one I started. . . but somehow I managed to pull up mine and added to it instead. I had both of them opened in separate windows and replied to the wrong one. . . now Wosnes has added a recipe to that one too.
Would it be ok with you for us to move the comments from this thread to that one? That way we will only have one recipe thread going. I don't want to step on your toes but I guess I already did so unintentionally. At least we both had the same intention! I do apologize.
And KCCC--the actual recipes were what I was thinking about. So many people list tasty sounding foods they've eaten and I'm always curious about how to make it, especially if it sounds like something my family would enjoy!

Thanks.
Hey what else would a fellow dyed in the wool Texan do!!!
By the way, living elsewhere now, it's funny to me how many restaurants in other places have Texas themes/names. . . we have the the Texas Star, the Amarillo Grill and we're in a small town! And on the menus of lots of places are items with Texas in the name.
(yeah, I'm pretty proud of my roots!)

See-Official Thread-RECIPES from our own kitchens-Add yours
OK--so I renamed the other thread the "official" recipe thread and added Vintage Geek's introductory comments and KCCC's too as well.
So if anyone is reading this thinking about adding a recipe, please add it to the other one so we can have one merged set of recipes.
look for the one called: Official Thread-RECIPES from our own kitchens-Add yours!
This is going to be fun!
