Good things that happened while Urban Rangering

Post by Kevin » Wed Feb 09, 2011 3:07 am

This is a positive, feel-good thread where you mention only good things that happen while Urban Rangering.

I'll start.

The other day I was walking my usual route and spied a 16" Toyota Camry hubcap... just like the one that fell off our 2002 Camry a few weeks ago.

Bonus!

That's awesome.

Now just don't make too much use of that hubcap. :-)

Kevin,

That's amazing!! I have found (and returned) somebody's wallet, found $20, reported graffiti to the city, discovered a park, and met tons and tons of people who would never talk to me if I weren't out on the street with my dog. Good stuff!

My former mother-in-law was a regular walker and picked up all the money and change she found. She routinely found $10s and $20s. Usually it enabled her to buy savings bonds for all five of her grandchildren every year.

Me? I've found 50¢ in the last six months. Not at one time.

I picked up a Metro bus pass and handed it back to the woman who dropped it getting on the bus. She was very happy.

While jogging/walking around the track, I noticed this chick started to run hard, and I didn't really understand why. I then look down and I see some money, and pick it up. The girl runs up to me and I said if I found some money. I told her yes and asked her if it was hers. She said no...

I guess she was trying to run to the money before I got there or something. Regardless, I found 4 dollars! It was my second day jogging, so I took that as a good omen that this is something that I should continue to do :)

Once I was jogging and a very attractive brunette co-ed said hello to me. Unfortunately I was to winded to say hello back.

Hi. I have found all sorts of things while "rangering." I found $10 blowing down the street towards me, lots of loose coins (in areas where people park, open their doors and coins fall out), two really nice folding wooden chairs, a foldable pet bowl. I have also met people while out walking and had some great conversations. Great things happen when you get out of your car.

I have made friends while walking. I have two walking buddies both house wives like me, and we also like to do some grocery shopping during our walks. While walking we share our thoughts, fitness tips, recipes, and other stuff. Good friends – what more one can ask for?
Have anyone else found friends like me?
