Beginning UR, Walking everywhere within 15 minutes of home.

Post by ~hf » Mon Nov 21, 2011 5:25 am

I've made a deal with myself that I will walk to all of my destinations that are within a 15 minute walk from my home. I live in an area where there are a lot of things close by, hardware store, schools, restaurants, even the grocery store. The exceptions will be when it is raining (which doesn't happen often around here), when I'm doing the weekly grocery shopping or when it is dark.

I did the same thing when I lived in similar neighborhood. Instead of 15 minutes, I made it 6-8 blocks. I walked a lot then.

Nice idea!

Make the cutoff 14 minutes and it becomes schedulistically insignficant. :-)

How it all comes together: a 14 word diet plan, a 14 minute exercise plan (x2, now), a 14 glass per week ceiling...

hf, with an ergonomic back pack you could range home the groceries for small things.
