Yearly check-in

(New!) Read (or post) about people who have stuck with No-S for 10 or more months, lost 10 or more pounds, or 10 or more percent for their starting weight. Periodic updates strongly encouraged -- you can think of it as "Yearly Check In."

Yearly check-in

Post by jules » Sun Oct 21, 2012 5:39 am

My yearly check-in is in the form of a re-dedication to No.S. I did quite well on No-S for a long time. Then I moved across country and my habits were in total upheaval. Plus, I've been unemployed or underemployed for a long time, so it's a little difficult to be consistent with something like this when your life seems to be in a seemingly endless unknown. LOL. While I realize that that is rationalization to a large extent, I see it as an explanation rather than an excuse.

My ex-mother-in-law has been living with me temporarily. (Long story.) Once she leaves on Nov. 1st, I will have a much easier time adhering to No-S. Until then, my goal is to have more successful No-S events than failures and go for No-S events rather than successful No-S days. My biggest food issue tends to be portion size and going for seconds. So I will try to have more meals without seconds than ones with seconds. After Nov. 1st, I will go for Vanilla No-S.

The good news, though, is that I didn't re-gain very much weight during my No-S hiatus. :D

Good job! Changes can certainly cause problems at times.
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.
Please pray for me

Hi Jules,

Thanks for checking in and best of luck on your "re-dedication!"

If it's any comfort, seconds are the hardest S for me as well.

This is good news! Maintenance is more important than losing the same weight over and over again!
The journey is the reward.
Maintenance is progress.
