Twisting Planks

Here you'll find a discussion thread for each of the canonical and major non-canonical shovelglove moves. If you have questions or comments about any of these moves, just update the existing discussion for it. If you have a new move, add a new discussion (preferably with the name of your new move in the title). Ideally there will be just one discussion thread per move that everyone adds to, but it's no tragedy if a little bit of redundancy creeps in.

Twisting Planks

Not sure if this has been posted before - combining a normal long armed plank and a twist, it's a bit of a yoga move.

Start in a straight armed plank position, with SG head under your chest, with the handle out to the left, 90 degrees to the body.

With the left hand pick up SG, under your chest, push the head towards the right initially and then with your arm slightly bent pull towards the left and rotate the shoulder out and up and at the same time, straightening your arm, rotate the whole upper body towards the left and upwards, keeping your right hand in place to support the upper body and obviously the feet stay in place.

The end position is like a rotated crucifix position, with the SG held above your head.

Change hands, you don't get to use the full leverage of the SG, but it's gives a different feel to the day to day moves.

I hope this makes sense.

I find it works the shoulders and especially the Abs area.
