Oolala, many times I feel perfectly normal when my weight goes up, not bloated, but it's usually been after S-days, or when I overindulged. And lately, when I've overindulged, it was small-scale, just more than N Days. The last three days, for instance, were S days. I ate quite a bit more, but still...

Absolutely, Larkspur! Most important is habit and moderation, for peace with food. Conversely, for me, the weight removal instills my moderation and habit. Elizabeth, I changed my plate size from a luncheon size 8 1/2" to a 7 1/2" like yours, since this past January. I have two plates; the other one is 7 1/4". I use them for all dinners except Sat pizza night, if we buy from a pizzeria. The pizza hangs over, so I go back to the 8 1/2" plate. Sometimes ...

Elizabeth, no, of course I don't mind my strategy mentioned. I have gotten mine from Life is a Blessing. It became mine and your strategy became yours, because it may be similar, but I'll bet it's a little different, too. If my sweet mod stops working for me, I'll say so on my check-in, as this is a...

Glad you back feels better! I have been very neglectful of my exercises this week. No matter how many red days you have, Elizabeth, don't give up No S! I've done that X2 and always my weight came back. This is a normal and healthy way to eat for life. I've always regretted the ground I lost - not on...

Yep, the French would fat on our restaurant food, but I understand they have multiple courses at restaurants, just small portions of each. What is this talk about them eating lots of butter, cream on their food and wine and don't get fat? Do they really do this to their food, but just eat a lot smal...

Sorry about your muscle strain, Elizabeth. It's good to rest it. Sometimes I'll do some gentle stretching when a muscle hurts. Some days I want to eat everything in sight and feel sorry for myself, knowing the consequences. I'll drink hot tea, come on these boards to distract me and find encourageme...

I've taken note of your age, and I find that as I also get older I need more drastic measures, because I still need to lose weight. That's why I went to even smaller plates. Oolala, do you have to count calories on this low-cal diet? And is it a 3-meal structure? I have an older ex-runner friend whose knees are sometimes braced up. Shovelglove is great! I normally do stretching, but when I watch TV, I often throw in shovelglove. I keep a card with the exercises on it near the TV, and the hammer in the corner. Elizabeth- adding a sweet is still No S, just with an added mod. If at any time I feel it's not working, I'll drop it, at least for the time being. But so far, so good. Thanks for commenting Elizabeth! I was able to go all "vanilla" up to now, but my S-days never got under control, even after years of it. It's sort of an experiment to see if adding the sweet, or at least knowing I can, will reduce the cravings on S days. Problem is, I haven't had many normal weeken...

Good attitude, Elizabeth! Your removal of the accursed calorie counting and scale are setting you free, indeed, as they have been a burden to you. Isn't it also freeing to stop snacking? I'm so relieved to no longer dig into the fridge, freezer or cabinets to feed the snack-monster, because of habit...
