Carbs In Japan

I live in Japan currently and I can say that I am also very surprised at their snacking habits. Working in a school here, they have vending machines loaded down with all types of crazy sweets, usually some sort of bread covered in a sugary glaze or something of the sort. Before I started dieting I g...

Day 45-49

Day 45 Thursday: Success Day 46 Friday: FAILURE! I can't really remember why it was a failure, I know that it was something stupid. I think it may have been taking half a helping more at dinner on Friday. So dumb. At least I didn't blow the day up. Day 47 Saturday: S-Day. Day 48 Sunday: S-Day Day 49...

Friday: Success. Saturday: S Day Sunday: S Day Went a little crazy with the snacking, especially on candy, which I don't usually even like that much. Family from America sent us a box full of different candies and I haven't eaten any all week. Well, you can guess what happened on Saturday and Sunday...

Thanks r.jean

It's not that I'm having that hard of a time with the diet itself (although its really more of an eating plan). It's just that I'm not seeing really any results, at least weight-wise. That being said, I took some body measurements (chest, waist, abs, butt, etc.) and it seems that I've lost about an ...

Day 38

Thursday: Success. I will admit that I'm starting to get a little bit impatient with the process though. I know, I know, it has only been 38 days, barely a month. But I just can't help it. And I know, I've tried all the diets in which you lose weight quick, and its never been sustainable. And I know...

Doing Great!

Gale, you are really doing well. It is really hard to tell yourself "No!" especially when around sweets all the time, but it does get easier. I used to really, really crave them, but after a week or so of not eating whatever I wanted at my every whim, it became easier. Sure, I still want them when I...

Then, Day 21, I had a failure, and now it has only been 3 days but it seems...

How quick did you drop pounds?

Hey guys, I know everyone is different and will react to the new eating habits in their own specific way. I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on how quick you lost weight when you first started, when or if you began to plateau, and what little changes you may have made to help progress...

Thanks for the advice

Thanks guys for the advice. Looks like I'll be staying with the 8 pounder for a bit for a couple of reasons: 1. Apparently Japan has a lack of real sledgehammers, meaning the 8 pound option is the best I've found so far. 2. It certainly gave me a workout in my first week, so much so that I strained ...

Oh, Japan!

Unfortunately, I went to my local hardware store here in Hamamatsu, Japan and noticed that they had one size of dai hanma (sledge hammer) and that it was 3.6 kilos, which is 8 pounds. Success! It's amazing how many times throughout the day I would have eaten something just to eat it without even thinking.
