Pushing a wheelchair is very hard work!

When Robb broke his back, I realized this. We used to do crazy stuff, like going cycling. I'd ride my bike, and he'd hook his cane around my seatpost, and I'd drag him and his chair behind me.

Thank goodness he has his own adaptive trike now.

Another day on-track. We need to go to the grocery store, so lunch was a Random Assortment of Food.

I'm surrounded by treats, but am not tempted. It's such crappy quality, that passing on by is easy.

I'm chugging along, staying (mostly) on track. The funny thing is that my S-days are almost the same as my N-days. I rarely eat seconds, almost never eat sweets, and rarely eat snacks. I haven't stepped on a scale, since just after I started this experiment. I've lost some weight in my face, but my ...

I think the issue is probably American. In much of Europe, lunch is sacred. They think we're barbarians for gobbling down lunch in our cubicles. And they're probably right.

Just like No S, there's a lot more "during" than before and after.

Here's an interesting question: why do traditionally male jobs (like construction) have very strictly observed meal breaks, while female jobs like yours don't? Unions? Men being more pushy, and sticking up for themselves? Women being afraid to make a fuss?

What do you like to eat? What do you envision, when you picture an average breakfast, lunch or dinner?

If you pack (or buy) a "real" lunch, you could nibble on it when you have he chance, and still be aware of eating a reasonable amount.

Are you not given meal breaks? That may not be legal.

I haven't been doing daily check-ins. I've been on vacation, which we spent at home. Brewed beer and wine. Had friends over. Went to the beach. Read a lot. Hung out in the garden. Worked on improving my hand-spinning. Worked with our bees. Cooked and ate some yummy meals. Ate well. I think we will b...

Me? I keep my mouth mostly shut on this subject. I've mentioned to my immediate coworkers that I don't eat sweets or snacks on weekdays, and they pretty much looked at me like I was insane.

I was raised in a no snack household, which was difficult because I have a very speedy metabolism.

Ravelry is brilliant! I'm in awe of the way it functions, both as a tool for research, and as a place to socialize.

We only have a tiny porch, and we spend most of our time in the back garden. But it is funny how similar houses of this era are. Tonight, we're making another batch of jam from our plum tree, and starting yeast for brewing beer. All of these things are simple, and date back centuries. I joke that my...

Our backyard tree drops fruits, and I keep them from going to waste, by cutting off the split part, and freezing them until there's enough to make jam. Three gallon sized bags made a dozen jars of jam. http://farm6.st...

When I worked as a bartender I'd see a lot of guys guzzling beer right after working out. Now, I strongly believe that a long bike ride properly ends with a beer. But I don't think that every workout should end with six Coors Lights.

We live in a 1925 house, whose kitchen was last updated in the late '40s or early '50s. We love it. We have a vintage stove, that is fantastic for baking. We cook most of our meals from scratch. I haven't been checking in, but that's just fine. I've been eating well. Had another weekend where I never had a urge for either sweets or snacks.
