There's a blurry boundary between "eat until you're 80% full, and don't have seconds" and "short yourself on dinner, and be fidgety all night."

I'm still trying to figure this out.

Let go of guilt. It doesn't do anyone any good. It doesn't make any sense. Do this: Consider about all the carbs happily consumed by the Italians, and then do a google search on "Italian Street Fashion." Those folks sure don't look like they're suffering, do they? Seriously, the whole point of No S ...

Thanks for your nice note, Pangelsue. I had forgotten the conversation about reflux, because that isn't a problem for me. I think the talk just sort of drifted that-a-way... As for the allergies, that's the Big Mystery. A current theory is that allergies are a result of an over-active immune system,...

Thanks for your nice comment. I think my "secret weapon" is my father, who never, ever, ever ate snacks. It just wasnt part of his European upbringing. He had a huge sweet tooth, and would have a little dessert every night at dinner. And he stayed slim his entire life. He was very proud of this, alm...

I am a shameless food snob. Also a beer snob.

Life is too short to drink cheap beer or to eat crap food.

Which is to say, that I try to only consume the things I know I'll *really* enjoy. My hipster coworkers claim a love of really cheap beer, but I think they're delusional.

I had a similar experience when I first started. I don't own a scale, so I'm only generally aware of my weight. I went to the doctor, for a routine checkup, and was horrified to record the highest weight of my life. That was -- temporarily -- demoralizing. But I've realized that my goal was to estab...

More "food for thought." I find that my sweet tooth was more habitual than desire-based. Now that I've cleared sweet treats out of the house, I'm much less likely to indulge on weekends. I'm lucky. And I know it. Food isn't particularly complicated for me. I haven't lived the rollercoaster that so m...
