I like your mods. I'm doing something similar after one year of losing followed by a year of maintenance, no snacks or desserts except for social events, otherwise No S 7 days a week. Best wishes for a successful 2018!

I entirely second what oolala says - definitely plan on a year. I have been on No S for one year; I have lost 24 pounds, but I lost only six pounds in the first four months. I am so glad I didn't give up. Please give No S the time and effort it deserves. It really works IF you stick with it. Best wi...

I was going to post my own "wisdom" on this topic, but, WOW, the replies already are terrific and I have nothing else to add. I do want to mention that for me, after a year, I can see the changes that occurred sort of naturally without me really doing much. That is a benefit of No S to me and a long...

I wasn't familiar with the White Bear problem and had to look it up, and I'm not sure of the application here so I can't adequately address that. I do know without a doubt that for me there are some foods I cannot keep in the house because I will eat them without stopping. It just makes sense not to...

Lots of great advice here! I have struggled with this in the past and all of these wonderful suggestions helped me. What also helped me was going to bed at a decent hour. If I am tired I am more likely to eat to get energy to keep going and I am less likely to have the willpower to resist late at ni...

Hi SophieK, I experienced the EXACT same you did when I started No S about a year ago. For me in some ways it was a relief to feel hunger because for so long I had been eating so much, I was never hungry. I think you are doing just right except maybe eat a little more. The days will definitely get b...

Hi Bullisaba, I used to binge eat all the time - it didn't really matter why or when and it was most often sweets. Over the past year I have improved in that area, fewer binging events and smaller bingers when they do occur. What helped me most was to set "standards" of what sweets I eat. (I use quo...

This is such a great thread - so helpful to me. Besides straight up No-S, one thing which has helped me in the past and which I am committing to again during the holiday season is to have a goal of being hungry at least once a day. Last year when I committed to No S in earnest, one of the reasons I ...

Thank you all for your kind welcome! After I posted I thought I should have given a little more personal detail so here goes... I am 58 years old, married, two adult children, and three darling grandchildren. I have been overweight or obese since age 30 and I hope to be back to a healthy weight by a...

Long Time Lurker - First Time Post
Hi Everyone, I probably decided it was time to join in the discussion. This board has been a great help to me, and I am hoping to get more support and perhaps even give back to others as well. I have been following No S off and on for about a year. Even though it has been haphazard, I have been slow...
