What do you eat?????

As you are thinking, I cook normal meals from umpteen cookery books. I don't aim to cook low fat meals, just something tasty and with plenty of vegetables. Sometimes I include snack type foods (eg tortilla chips) as part of a meal. If I include such things occasionally as ordinary food, it stops the...

Cake at work and other disasters

I say how delicious the food looks, but explain I've had a big breakfast or just add that I won't have a piece, thank you.

Colleagues' expectations quickly adjust, and my not eating the cake has become normal (to me, as well as to others).

Welcome!

NoS works, and after the first three weeks it is amazing how the new habits set in.

Horrible habit! Any suggestions??

As has been suggested, a big drink of water first thing might help. Fruit compote can make a tasty, sweet element of breakfast. I put some dried fruit (figs, prunes, apricots etc) in a cereal bowl in the evening, pour on boiling water and leave overnight. In the morning, it's all gooey and sweet and...

WHERE ARE THOSE OATMEAL IDEAS?

I was so miserable last night from the migraine, I just couldn't do anything. Before Book

I found NoS because it was mentioned (as being a wittily expressed diet) by a poster to Scott Adams's blog (Dilbert) a couple of years ago.

I've sometimes wondered whether anybody here made that post (if so, THANK YOU), and whether anyone else found NoS via that route?

Advice for Mom of 3 who need to eat?

I find this difficult, too. Many of my failures are due to my daughter's delicious baking! Recently I have found that eating one baked item as part of a meal means that I am not tempted to eat more as snacks. Maybe your two older children are old enough to make their lunches themselves (from the hea...

How does Amazon calculate bestsellers?

With Reinhard's book imminent, I have been wondering how Amazon calculates its sales rankings. Some of us ordered The Book in advance, and presumably these pre-orders were included in sales rankings at the time, as the book did have a sales ranking. Do the pre-order sales get counted again when the ...

Hot cross buns are relatively healthy, as they do not contain much sugar or fat, so I'd treat them as food acceptable as part of a meal on an N day. What to do when you need chocolate on an Nday

Can you move the chocolate biscuits out of reach and out of sight? Research has shown that if food is visible and within reach, people eat much more than if it is tucked away. I find that keeping food out of the way really helps me.
