What do you eat?????
As you are thinking, I cook normal meals from umpteen cookery books. I don't aim to cook low fat meals, just something tasty and with plenty of vegetables. Sometimes I include snack type foods (eg tortilla chips) as part of a meal. If I include such things occasionally as ordinary food, it stops the...

Cake at work and other disasters
I say how delicious the food looks, but explain I've had a big breakfast or just add that I won't have a piece, thank you.
Colleagues' expectations quickly adjust, and my not eating the cake has become normal (to me, as well as to others).

Horrible habit! Any suggestions??
As has been suggested, a big drink of water first thing might help. Fruit compote can make a tasty, sweet element of breakfast. I put some dried fruit (figs, prunes, apricots etc) in a cereal bowl in the evening, pour on boiling water and leave overnight. In the morning, it's all gooey and sweet and...

Every day you tick off green on your habitCal is "green" in more senses than one. Reinhard Good point! It will make those green squares extra satisfying. I think my obsession with this granola is going overboard. I've managed not to binge-eat the whole box so far, but I spent a whole lecture thinking about how I wanted it for lunch ( although I'd had it for breakfast this morning)....surely craving a certain food that much is not normal?? I find tha...

WHERE ARE THOSE OATMEAL IDEAS?
I was so miserable last night from the migraine, I just couldn't do anything. Had nothing available this morning and woke up an hour late, so I stopped at a local bagel shop and got a whole wheat bagel with scrambled egg, swiss cheese, mushrooms and spinach. That's better I spose than the yucky stu...

I'm curious about how much extra traffic the No S webpages are getting since the book was launched, and how this is reflected in membership. Before Book
I found NoS because it was mentioned (as being a wittily expressed diet) by a poster to Scott Adams's blog (Dilbert) a couple of years ago.
I've sometimes wondered whether anybody here made that post (if so, THANK YOU), and whether anyone else found NoS via that route?

Advice for Mom of 3 who need to eat?
I find this difficult, too. Many of my failures are due to my daughter's delicious baking! Recently I have found that eating one baked item as part of a meal means that I am not tempted to eat more as snacks. Maybe your two older children are old enough to make their lunches themselves (from the hea...

How does Amazon calculate bestsellers?
With Reinhard's book imminent, I have been wondering how Amazon calculates its sales rankings. Some of us ordered The Book in advance, and presumably these pre-orders were included in sales rankings at the time, as the book did have a sales ranking. Do the pre-order sales get counted again when the ...

hot cross bun
Hot cross buns are relatively healthy, as they do not contain much sugar or fat, so I'd treat them as food acceptable as part of a meal on an N day. Having said that, hot cross buns were traditionally eaten only on Good Friday, and have only been available for weeks and months of the year relatively...

What to do when you need chocolate on an Nday
Can you move the chocolate biscuits out of reach and out of sight? Research has shown that if food is visible and within reach, people eat much more than if it is tucked away. I find that keeping food out of the way really helps me.

After a break from NoS, I find it helps to keep the first few days easy - limiting eating to mealtimes but eating big meals to see me through to the next meal without too much hunger. Then I can achieve a few successful days and I feel positive, which is more effective for me than trying to be too d...
