Hi there - Like Skycat, I think 50gms of oats would be ok, but I think the main thing is that it doesn't really matter what the calories are - if you are uncomfortably stuffed afterwards, then it's too much for you... and I believe that's what counts here - how do you feel about it?

Ah Linda, you and me both! No advice I am afraid, just a bit of solidarity because I am in exactly the same place as you, by the sounds of it :-/ Not sure where to go either - the first couple of weeks I did fine, but once I started snacking in the evening, that seems to be it. I read somewhere on h...

Thanks Ironchef :) I know I saw one, but I can't find it now - it's maybe within a different thread? I think they started as isolated incidents, but now I seem to be on a roll... I am wondering if the whole idea of just no snacks is self-delusion? Evening snacks have re-emerged as a 'Thing' in my he...

In the summer I have a big protein rich salad - chicken, rice and beans/lentils, salmon, egg and ham, and lots of veggies, seeds, a bit of mayo or olive oil. In the winter I take hearty soups or leftovers of curry, chilli, stew etc that I can heat up. Either way, I try and stay away from processed c...

Buttercup Checking In
OK so, first post to state progress so far: I started 9 days ago, having done two weeks of just No Snacks before I discovered this place. So far on No-S I have had 3 fail days already, and this is disheartening. Each time they were sweet things after dinner. I had no fails in the two No Snacks weeks...

MustLoseWeight - I am another person who has often been at the mercy of negative thought-spirals and bad-mouthing myself to myself etc etc One thing that has helped me is to be able to acknowledge the thought (ooh there's that thought that I am useless, again) but not argue the truth about it with m...

Thanks again all - OK so I think I should caveat my last response also with *for me* it's not so much the 'what' as the 'when'. For other people, it may be very different and I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression from what I may post. I am the person who, when talking to the Dr about healt...

Thanks everyone - this is all really helpful stuff! I think I begin to see even more that it's not the 'what' as much as the 'when' on this diet/way of living... just because there are no hard and fast rules really. But I also begin to see that maybe there are the differences of opinion on the 'what...

Hi all and thank you so much for your words of wisdom... there are a few different takes here, so even on vanilla no s, I can see there may be differences in what people deem ok. So yes, I will have to start learning to trust my judgement right away! I suppose part of the fear around that is the 'on...

Hi Silk001 - a fellow new starter - good luck to you too :) Pre no S, I usually have had breakfast, eaten all my 'emergency' snacks before lunch even arrives (because there they are, looking at me funny), and had my actual lunch, all before 12:30... Not having the snacks there, I am not obsessing ab...

Hi - new here too, rather than a returner, but like Silk001, wanted to wish you luck. I have done various diets, and yoyoed all over the place, and it's hard to come back and give it another try - I think you deserve credit for giving it another go. Also this made me laugh 'that if we're 50 lbs. ove...

Hey all - I have been reading around the forum a bit, and have some questions... I haven't read everything so apologies if this info is in here somewhere... 1. No Seconds - I don't habitually have seconds anyway, so this isn't a problem, but the 'all on one plate' thing is bothering me... this is be...

Thank you Bluebell and Merry for the welcome! :) My main aim is to change my way of thinking about food; I am so sick of thinking about it all the time! I am so obsessed with it - what I can/can't eat, how much is OK, how deprived/greedy I am: I never stopped to think that the WHEN could be more imp...

Hello I'm new
Hi all - I'm new to the forum and new to the idea of no S - sort of: a couple of weeks ago, I realised that snacking is the main reason I am unable to lose weight, and I found this website in my search for info on 'no snack' diets. As it says on here, there is a lot of money to be made from snacks, ...
