I am impressed by your dedication to the strength training. I have a series of bodyweight exercises I do, from Mark Lauren's Body By You. Once or twice a week is enough for me, as it can take up to 5 days for me to fully recover. But even so, I can still feel the difference. And there is something v...

When I was a small child, back in the 1950s and 60s, we had 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. As an older child morning tea was dropped, so it was a regular 3 meals and one snack. Then I hit my teenage growth spurt, and I was hungry all the time. My normal lunch wasn't enough, even after eating a big brea...

May was much the same as usual, mostly 3 meals a day with the occasional supper once or twice a week and about 3 occasions when I either ate a bit more than needed or was not really hungry for a meal. Re: ladybird's check in

Wow, over 3 months since I posted last. I am still doing No S, my weight chugging along around 142 lbs for June and July. Then after logging my food for a month on a calorie counter, I dropped a couple of lbs. A month is as much as I could bear, but it did show me where I could cut a few calories re...

Re: GabbyGirl2's Daily Check-in

One thing I found very helpful was dishing out the whole meal at once. It may not all go on one plate, but it is a habit I have stuck with. When I do have seconds occasionally, they register as seconds. I like to have a definite end to the meal. It has helped to put an end to my previous habit of po...

Re: I need a reason to keep doing this!

To the good advice from Whosonfirst & Soprano, I will add it can take time, so don't give up.
Sometimes if I am having the do nothings, I decide to do just one small, easy thing - that may be enough to
get me over the hump & into some purposeful activity.

Linda, I had to laugh at the tale of Sweetpea's boyfriend. And blush with embarrassment as I rembered some of the things I did when young.
I hope you enjoyed the chocolate at the time.

FWIW, my personal belief is that dieting is the cause of, not the cure for, gluttony. However, dieting never made it on to the list of 7 deadly sins.

Good luck.

Re: Jen’s Eating Simplified (:

Welcome back Jen. Interesting discussion about hunger & fullness signals. I have found after several years of practicing No S, that I am much better at that and don't very often eat when I am not hungry or eat past the point of comfort. I too find that if my weight drops below my present weight, the...

Thanks for the kind words Auto. Yes, calories still count. I also hate being hungry, but I pick my battles and find being hungrier earlier in the day much easier to tolerate than later. So I don't usually have my first meal til late morning. Some restrictions have just been lifted here, so I can now...

Re: Advice for committing

Hi Babybird - I am not sure why your appetite swings like that, but here are a couple of things that might contribute are you eating a balanced meal with enough fat, carbs & protein. I find that protein helps keep hunger at bay, and a high carb meal without any fat doesn't last very long are you ove...

Can't believe it has been so long. I hope everyone is keeping well, and coping with these strange times without excess food. Since Jan I haven't been weighing every day like I used to - I lost my enthusiasm for that. Occasionally I get on the scales. My weight has been reasonably stable from Jan to ...

Thanks Simmstone, I agree it is a long learning process. I am still working on truly moderate eating. I love the way No S gives a structure for me to find out what works and what doesn't.

I am not surprised that BLE people have to tape their mouths shut. So would I if I was trying to exist on 1200 -1400 cals a day with no time off for good behaviour. And it is not necessary to eat that little to lose weight, unless one is a tiny, bed ridden/utterly sedentary female (I am talking abou...

Intrusive eh? I applaud your efforts to get your pre diabetes under control. Personally, I am very keen to avoid the intrusions
that diabetes leads to. One of the reasons I want to get rid to the rest of my excess upper body fat.
