Book that Complements No-S
I wanted to share a book that I think complements No-S. It's called "Lean Habits For Lifelong Weight Loss: Mastering 4 Core Eating Behaviors to Stay Slim Forever" by Georgie Fear. It's a habits-based approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy weights. If plain vanilla No-S isn't fully getting y...

Re: Staying On Track
For me, there is no question that what works best for me is tracking my meals. I know people often think that's so hard, but for me it has always been easy. I mean, it's just 3 meals, and they are usually pretty similar, so .... just works for me. Plus, I use my thread as a diary of sorts. It's far...

Staying On Track
Earlier in the summer, I did No S successfully for a month or six weeks and loved it. I lost weight, it was easy, it made me feel good. Then... I'm not sure what happened. I think maybe I just got busy or something and a few days I didn't do it, then I just fell off the wagon. I eventually ended up ...

Re: Robin's Check-In
Today is a red day for me. I ate lunch and I'm not even sure what happened, but I found myself going back after lunch to snack on a bunch of stuff. I've been doing really well, but today I just felt - I don't know - off, I suppose. A little tired, a little stressed, and I just found myself giving in...

Re: Get Easier/Automatic?
These answers actually are inspiring confidence in me! Right now it's still taking a fair amount of conscious attention to redirect myself when I want to snack on N days or eat seconds. All I want is for that part to get a little more automatic, and it sounds like it will. Thanks!

Re: Is This Mod a Bad Idea?
Thanks! I like that approach. I think sometimes it's hard to trust myself to be moderate, but I need to learn that I can make good decisions and only use the S day sometimes when I really need/want it.

Re: Robin's Check-In
I took the dog out for a walk right after dinner yesterday and it worked really well. By the time we got back I was out of eating mode.

Re: Is This Mod a Bad Idea?
Thank you for your perspective. It's good to hear something like this is working for someone else. I think I need that consistency and having no guiderails on S days is a bad idea for me.

Re: Robin's Check-In
I had the smallest slip up today but I think I need to call it a red day. After dinner I convinced myself that "A couple of bites won't matter" and eating a few bites of a leftover dinner roll. I didn't do the walk right after dinner! I think that would help a lot. I'm doing it tomorrow.

Re: Is This Mod a Bad Idea?
Thank you for the perspective. It's a good point that I'm probably going to want to deviate from the ideal sometimes, so I should plan for it. I was planning on using sweets on S days as the release valve, but maybe I'd be better to go with the mod that allows one lapse (either a snack, sweet, or se...

Re: Robin's Check-In
Thanks for all the support and encouragement! Friday was a red day for me. I ended up mindlessly going back and snacking from the pantry after dinner. It's an old habit, and I fell into it again. I'm finding that it's very helpful to me to have a clear and to a meal - leave the kitchen, maybe go for...

Is This Mod a Bad Idea?
I'm a little uncomfortable with the No S System for a couple of reasons. First, our body's hunger systems develop habits of getting hungry at a certain time, and not being hungry at other times. That is great if we are consistent eating the same number of meals at about the same time because it help...

Robin's Check-In
Hi everyone. I'm new to No S. I was chugging along pretty good for almost two weeks and then had a couple of monumental red days. I thought I'd make a commitment to report on red days only here. I have been doing really well on No S and losing some weight. However, last week I went on vacation. We t...

Get Easier/Automatic?
So, those of you who have been following this system for a while, does it really get progressively easier and become largely unconscious and automatic?

Bites here and there
I tend to eat a few bites while preparing food and sometimes while cleaning up. How does that fit in?

Shake Day is this week and I'm NOT going to consider it an S day. They are always having events at work and if I start thinking of them all as special days, I won't make any progress. If I really want a shake I'll wait for the weekend and walk up to my local ice cream parlor and get my favorite kind.

Special Day Question - Shake Day At Work
Hi! I'm brand new and excited to be doing this! I am just getting started and I am ALREADY stressing over a special day question... It's HOT here and my workplace is holding a "Shake off the Heat!" event on Thursday Aug 10 and selling milkshakes. Does this count as a special day? My workplace often ...
