So sorry you have had to deal with so much. Please don't apologise for writing about it. It's great you can use here to get it off your chest. I'm not surprised you were feeling mad. I love walking I always feel better after. Big hugs, you seem to be coping well. The depression will be your bodies w...

I think he thought it unnecessary unless you were type 1
I suppose they are used to it being done to inform insulin and food requirements which isn't necessary in non diabetic or type 2.
Personally I think understanding the impact of dietary choices is a good thing.

Finally got back to the Drs to arrange my follow up diabetes blood test. Interesting discussion, he said they don't recommend people buying their own glucose monitor. I wanted to know how long to wait after a meal to test your blood to assess the impact it had on blood sugar. Any way my last result ...

Well done, it does work if you stick with it
Adding in a little bit of exercise will help too, nothing strenuous, a walk, yoga, whatever takes your fancy..

Re: "Train" now for holiday eating
Great post!
This happened to me last year, the holiday season was compounded by work stress and change of job, then a house move.
I only now feel back on track. If I can get back to my lowest weight which I hit in November by Christmas that should be incentive enough to stay on track.

Sorry to hear about your binge eating. Lots of theories about it and solutions. Follow your instinct about how many meals. I would also suggest ensuring you choose meals you enjoy and take the time to enjoy the food.
Good luck

I'm on the way home now after spending the weekend in London with hubby, son and his girlfriend. Son is now 25 and living and working in the City he's doing really well and I am so proud of the man he has become. We've all had a fantastic time together. However life has not been smooth and perfect. ...

Big hugs Auto, you are not alone with those feelings about parenthood and good for you voicing them.
I would definitely start to set boundaries around the bedroom.
Haven't got time for more now. Out with my son!

Making weightloss a secondary reason will help a lot
Just follow the rules and when you slip up which you will be kind to yourself. You are only ever one meal away from being on track again.
We are all rooting for you.

I'm a natural blonde and 55. On 3 or 4 occasions I have had highlights but am going grey naturally and disgracefully. I'm fortunate in that there is still a lot of blonde even if it is more ash than strawberry these days

Whilst I'm here most days I haven't posted for a while. My weight is still up on my Nov nos low but is staying pretty consistent. I finally bought a blood glucose monitor. I think you will be better off and will probably lose a little weight without huge effort but you may just find you start to change things over time as you don't have to worry so much about food

Thanks for the article link, my glucose reading was top of the green in June 18. I was supposed to go back a year later but with moving kept putting it off but am now registered with a new Doctor so should probably get it read again.

If it helps I added a no s of no starving. So if I'm ravenous I will have a small snack. Usually I need it if a meal gets delayed. It helps stop me over eating when I finally do sit down and stops any picking whilst cooking.
Not needed often but it has helped

Don't ruminate on parenting mistakes, I've been doing a bit of that lately!!
I'd love to have some of my time again to do it differently but we can't and have to accept that and get better going forward
Like all of us you did the best you could at the time, no one can ask more....
