Hi Tricia, I know exactly what you mean about wanting to eat some treats during the week for the holidays, otherwise you end up going nuts at some point. Yesterday I baked mince pies and sampled ONE with my afternoon tea. It really didn't feel like a failure at all, so I'm not logging it as one. How...

You're so right! It's OK then! It's NOT an S *grin* Seriously though, the stuff contains only unrefined sugar beet juice and apple juice. There's nothing else there. No nasty chemical stuff, no weird jelling agents, nothing. I reckon it's gotta be better for you than eating jam on your toast, and Re...

Hey Deb! Hope Richard feels better soon and that he *doesn't* share his cold with you  Take some Zinc and Vitamin C to ward it off. 8) I know what you mean about all the household stuff distracting you. There's a mound of washing up waiting for me right now. Well, if I will go baking ...

Oh, and the Apple Syrup is going strong. I've started eating a small piece of toast spread with it to round off my breakfast in the morning. It seems to stop my inner brat from whining. Yes, it's sugar, but it is all natural and whole, not refined at all. Another iron-rich foodstuff in my diet is ce...

So... I made 12 mince pies completely from scratch. I let them cool and then ate one(1!) mince pie with my afternoon tea and a little brandy butter on it. A further one has been left out on the cooling rack for the Boy to eat when he gets home and the other 10 are safely boxed up and sealed away. Li...

Well, I must have overdone it with the hammer, cos my back was a little sore over the weekend. Fortunately I don't seem to have done myself any major damage, so 3 days of resting it has fixed it up. I'm gonna do a very gentle 14 minutes today. Don't worry! I promise I really feel better and I'm real...

Curly Kale is my mega all time favourite vegetable! One of my 'comfort food' dishes is a large bowl of steamed kale with a little gravy on it. Over here, they make a thing called 'Stamppot' which is boiled potatoes with finely shredded kale, some salt and pepper to taste, a blob of butter and a dash...

Hi Freakwitch, Have you plotted the weight out anywhere on a graph to see the trend line? I think it's a definate downward one, week by week, which is all you really need. On the other hand, I can understand why you might want to speed things up a little bit. Perhaps you could do something like Spir...

Hey Josie, nevermind. It's a very human and normal thing to stuff it up sometimes. Get yourself back on track today and then give yourself a big pat on the back for having yet another shot at it. Afterall, it's not like there's a quota on the number of times you can try try again :) All the best, C.

The cold has now settled on my chest and I'm coughing a lot - which is not currently doing anything except give me a sore throat and make my chest hurt. Blergh. I need to find myself some Lemon Glycerine and Honey Linctus, I think. S's two oldest sisters have arrived for a visit in Amsterdam! YAY! W...

We-ell, I squeezed half a lime (no lemons!), added the juice to some maple syrup, added a good shake of cayenne pepper and mixed it 50/50 with cold and hot water. I have to say, it may well be purifying ME, but it's not purifying the environment as I've been polluting the livingroom with far too muc...

For me, I think you should make that your goal, but leave it time limited. For example, "I'll do 21 days of standard NoS, but with NO chocolate at all, not even on S days". I don't think that is inhumane, cos you know at the outset how long you have to go. That's just my take on it though. After tha...

The store didn't have any lemons last night!! What a disaster! Don't worry though. I will go shopping properly soon and get some then. I think I'm gonna need to get some cayenne pepper too as I have just about every other kind apart from that. I'm feeling a little better today - my cold is really ju...

The S days were easy but wondering if I went a little overboard. I felt that I still ate less than I would have pre- No S. And therein lies the key. Don't worry about your S days. They'll regulate themselves soon enough and you need the safety valve! If you think you went overboard, but you still a...

I've hauled myself into the office proper today, hopefully I'll get the new hard drive that arrived yesterday fitted into my laptop, as it's not behaving properly. I'm with you on the 'seeing with our minds' thing Deb, although in my case the opposite vision is usually true. Hey, an odd thought just struck me... ...I think NoS is "the ONE".
