20 acres.. boring as heck... Hrm... Get your workout in and plant a garden around the perimeter and build a meandering walking path! Teach the kids all about the local ecology in doing so. :D Set out some bird feeders, do some bird watching while you're out. Grab a camera, take pics of flowers, etc....

A few things: 1) I wear boxer briefs. They're snug and help a bit with pulling some excess moisture out of the way. Also, I mostly wear looser shorts in this heat. 2) When you come in from walking, wipe the area down with TP or a towel or something. You want to get rid of the moisture, asap. 3) Ther...

Minor check-in: 4 days of 9 mile walk days and I'm down 5 pounds. Legs are very restless now, they want to move. Fun. :)

Doggonit.

I could not resist the allure of free food in the break room.
Damage: 1 Danish, half a scone, and a veggie sandwich.

The plus side is, I'm out of food until tomorrow, so I won't be eating dinner. :/

Today: SUCCESS.

another 9 miles of walking.

Got a few pounds to come off, it's water weight I'm sure, but it's nice to see that number getting smaller.

I've always looked at the No S diet as an American "franco" diet. The French, on average, eat 3 meals a day, rarely snack (and if they do, it's something like fruit), and walk a lot (urban rangering). It works for them and it should work for us. I know for a fact that probably half of my calorie int...

Other uses for Habitcal

Who says you have to use HabitCal for just everydaysystems tracking? I've built a few more things for myself: 1) Home Cooking: To keep track of days where I only eat foods I cook. I'm trying to eliminate processed foods as much as possible to go along with the S-Diet, and this is one more thing I ca...

Got my Cowon D2 the other day. So far, it's pretty nice. I just need to get a better pair of headphones for it. I left my other PMP on the airplane. :(

Some notes: It's a lot heavier than I thought, and it's kinda bulky. Not in an original iPod way, but it was still a little surprising.

Never used it, but there was one parked in a spot outside my apartment in Portland, OR (it was a minivan). Got decent usage. I looked into it because I was car-less at the time, but realized everything I needed was within walking/biking distance.

Summers? I'd get a water bottle or two and keep re-using them daily. Stay hydrated. Walk in the early mornings and evenings. Maybe bring a camera to encourage you to stop and take some pictures of some flowers or something to give your body a rest when needed. I carry a man-bag (Timbuk2 messenger ba...

Cowon D2 is the front-runner in my future acquisitions. 4gig or 8gig model with SDslot for "unlimited" expandability, 50 hour (real-world) battery life for music, 10 or so for video, hackable firmware and interfaces and various audiophile website say it's got the best audio quality of all the portab...
