The No S Diet book is on sale at amazon for $5 and change. I just bought 3 of them; one for my twin sister, one for my friend, and one to possibly leave in the faculty room at work come September. I got an extra great deal because I get free shipping. So if anyone wants to buy an extra one or two an...
I first read about No-S in the faculty room in a "Quick & Simple" magazine's mantra of the week. I loved the simplicity of the rules. That was in June of 2008. I successfully no-essed for a while and then fell off the bandwagon. (Ramadan came and went and then I got pregnant with my second child). I...
Thank you to all who replied. Your suggestions and comments have been much appreciated. Traditionally, during Ramadan, a person should eat TWO meals; one just before dawn and then dinner. Sweets are NOT required, but they are very common. In my particular situation, I find it very hard to wake up at...
The month of Ramadan will be starting soon. This is a month where I will be fasting from sunrise to sunset. This means that from about 5:00 in the morning to 7:30 in the evening, I will not be able to eat or drink anything. I'd like to try and adapt No S during this time but I am not sure how. Any s...
Your results make me wish that I hadn't been messing up so badly. I have more FAILURE days than I care to remember. Next time I'm tempted to mess up, I'll have to think of you for inspiration.

Welcome, vcanfield. I am a teacher, too. :) I find that during prep periods I get the munchies, so last school year, while I was counting calories to lose weight (I hadn't yet discovered no S) I would try to chew gum and drink water to keep from snacking. This school year, I will try to do the same ...
Thanks for the post, Gingercake. It is nice to know that I am not the only one out there who panics sometimes and thinks of going back to counting calories. The weight loss is slow, but it seems more rewarding. I rest assured feeling and KNOWING somehow that whatever weight I lose each week is perma...
Hi, Andi. Welcome. My twin sister is 5'1'' and at her heaviest weighed 247 lbs. Fast forward two years and now she weighs about 150-155 lbs. She has done this by walking during her lunch break at work and after dinner, riding her stationary bike while watching tv, and eating mostly fruits and vegeta...
I am just starting my 6th week on No S and while I have had quite a few RED days, I do find this much easier to stick to and definitely more doable than many of the other diet alternatives out there.
I wish you luck and keep us posted on your progress.
I first read about No-S in the faculty room during my lunch break in a "Quick & Simple" magazine's mantra of the week. As someone who previously thought that there is NO possible way to lose weight unless you count calories, I now know that the opposite is true. (Thank God, I could only last for abo...

JamieS, a big congratulations to you on your success, patience, and diligence. :) I have been No-S ing for 9 days now and while I believe that this diet really does speak for itself, a post like yours truely reinforces the idea that "slow and steady wins the race." I am starting at 140 pounds and wo...
