You'll have to experiment on your own. In my experience, five SG days in a row is intense in a different way than interspersing SG with BW exercise days. Maybe try a month one way and then a month the other.

Doing 10 burpees is easier on my knees than doing 10 deck squats or 10 hindu squats. Not sure why.

I should think anything from Home Depot would work. Try a few moves with each hammer before you buy. Wrap the hammer with whatever you want or don't wrap it at all--your choice.

10 churning type movements
10 shoveling type movements
10 chopping type movements
10 squats
10 pushups

(keep the pace moderate to slow)

Repeat for 14 minutes.

I haven't been checking in for a while due to vacation followed by a death in the family.

My exercise/shovelglove has been very on-target as far as consistency.

No-S has been about 85%-90%. The no-S habit has been sticking with me without much effort on my part.

Two tips:

1) do the move two-handed for a while until you feel more comfortable with it.

2) keep your upper arm as vertical as possible throughout the exercise so you don't have to mess up your posture.

If you are relatively strong I think a ten pound hammer will work for you without having to upgrade any time soon. You can go to the hardware store and get the feel of one to make sure.

If you start shovelgloving be sure to take it easy for the first few weeks!

Just keep the habit going and Shovelglove will do right by you. Beware of going overboard though--it can stop you in your tracks (I have a lot of experience with that phenomenon).
