For me, milk is very important for me to have with my meals. I've noticed a big difference on how I manage from meal to meal when I have milk vs when I don't. I've tried substituting some other food around the same calories, but then I just get hungry early. If I have my glass of milk instead, I'm u...

Well I've tried making my own metromint water, and it turned out well, quite tasty. Unfortunately I've also discovered that mint flavored drinks make me hungry. Well that's not going to work! I'm back to drinking my watered down pomegranite and/or cranberry juices. They help me drink more water and ...

Well once I hit 21 days, there went my check ins! But, the habit is still going strong. Days 22-26 were all successful and 27-29 were Sdays that went well, despite a birthday in there. My husband loves cinammon bread (from a recipe of his mother's that she taught me), so we made several loaves for h...

You can do it shamrock - I know you can! Besides, it looks like you've done it before, and did really really well to boot. :) Oh those cakes! So good! So tempting! I'm going to be dealing with that temptation this weekend with hubby's bday. My daughter is living NoS with me, so no trying to feed the...

I guess that depends on what else is in it. I wouldn't count a plain coffee or expresso, but start adding sugar and milk, and I probably would, especially if it went over 50 calories for a cup. Luckily for me, I've never been a big coffee drinker and only occasionally, as a treat, have a mocha (mayb...

Grats x2 Mel! Yesterday was my 21st day on habit. I'm down 3.5 pounds so far. The best thing is I now truly believe I can turn this into a life long habit. I don't think I'm really there yet, but it is getting easier. My cravings have reduced significantly and I'm learning a lot about what a reasona...

Day A19: Success! Day A20: Sday Day A21: Sday I managed a pretty idiot free weekend with only tiny variations from normal Ndays - for example I allowed myself a single poptart for breakfast instead of my normal breakfast. Next weekend will be different as we'll be celebrating my husband's birthday. ...

It sounds to me that this is just like having an afternoon tea. If your schedule has you eating a late dinner - 8 hours or so from lunch to dinner, then it makes perfect sense to me to have a tea time in between. That's still a traditional schedule of meals. It's just a British schedule, not American.

Welcome Heather! I'll try to answer your questions. Green day: A day you stuck with the NoS rules, no sweets, no seconds, no snacks. Yellow day: Usually an S day where you had sweets, snacks and/or seconds, but you weren't an idiot, and it was an allowed S day (Saturday, Sunday, or other special day...

Day A15: Success! Day A16: Success! Day A17: Success! I'm behind in checking in here, but I think it's because the NoS way of eating is getting more and more routine, and not something I think about as much as at first. At the very beginning, the whole idea was on my mind a LOT. Now, it's mostly jus...

Thanks Blueskighs - so far so good! This weekend was a little challenge - even though my only rule is "don't be an idiot". I don't feel I was an idiot - but I was tempted to be one. My habits are not even close to firm yet and it would take very little for me to go back to the old bad ways. Just let...

Day A12: Success! I've been staying up late working all week and it finally caught up with me. I slep...

Day A10: Success! Day A11: Success! Just over halfway to 21 days! I think I can do it! I don't think I ate quite enough at lunch and dinner yesterday, as I was a bit hungry all evening. This is where I'd combine a little intuitive eating with NoS. What's done is done, and there's no reason to give up. Instead, after you've realized the error, just wait to eat again until you are physically hungry. Most likely you'll skip a meal no problem, and move on. You might find you don't need...

Hey Josh - it looks like we both started on the same day! I'd probably not count waffles as a sweet - if I was rational on the amount of butter and syrup used. Adagia's Check In
Hello everyone! Here I am, about to embark on what I hope will be a new lifetime habit of eating. I've had success in the past with reducing my food intake by only eating when hungry, but I've also found that I have trouble always knowing when I'm actually hungry or when I'm really thirsty, stressed...
