Stress and maintaining a diet

I was cruising along for a month on the nos diet and didnt have a red day. things got tight financially, i now have a part time job and havent been able to maintain due to a really screwed up schedule. If ones mind isn't in a right place, there is no way one can keep up with any diet plan. anyone kn...

Dodging a bullett

I thought for sure I packed on at least 7-10 pounds for the hoilday considering I had family activities from wednesday to sunday, but it was only a 2 pound gain. I can get that off in a week. The holidays are certainly hard on the diet.

The first couple of weeks i was filling my plate pretty full, but now i eat normal portions. once you learn how to deal with being hungry a couple of hours after a meal, everything is fine.

Giving blood on a nos day

How does this work, because it is very bad to not eat something after you give blood, otherwise you could pass out. Would a cookie and juice snack be accepatable in this circumstance?

Going to make today an N day. Didnt due to bad yesterday, had a few more beers that I should, but since I have a history of binge drinking, I make days I drink S days because I crash through the "glass ceiling" like Willie Wonka did in his elevator through his chocolate factory.

I actually dread s days, I feel like I am cheating myself and indulging too much. All and all this diet is helping me quit alot, but like you said in another post, being overweight is very psycological, and we need to conquer that first before we can lose the weight.

All-in all it comes down to the fact that you have to WANT to lose weight. I was 400lbs in 2000, was tired of being alone and went on a single minded eat less and exercise diet (I like to think of as the Bloom County Diet) and lost 200lbs. I was working out 2 hours everyday and eating barely 1200 ca...

Added benefit of NoS

I have found I am saving money because I am not hitting the vending machines at work for snacks or soda. I am also bringing my own breakfast and lunch because it is easier to control my portion size which saves me money from the plant cafeteria.

S days and beer.

There are 2 things I am truely passionate for, The Vikings and Beer. I am doing only 1 "s" day a week, and am making it Sunday, and not for snacks, but for too many beers while watching the Vikings games. I will extend the extra "s" day when the Iowa Hawkeyes make a bowl game. I prefer Guiennes to c...

Today I played Wii sports boxing for an hour striaght and found that is a great cardio workout. I think I can apply this to 20-30 minutes 3 or 4 times a we...

Pretty happy so far. I did cut down my S days to one on the weekend, seemed kind of a waste to me to lose ground 2 days during the weekend since I am working so hard during the week.

i dont see why you couldnt apply the south beach diet to the no s. as i see it, the no s philosophy is just controlling the amount of food consumed, and except for the no sweets, one may eat any food they like for thier 3 meals as long as they dont have 2nds.

you can use the eggplant for a sustitute for noodles in a lasagna, or look for recipes for eggplant parmesian. I usually dip the eggplant slices in egg, dip in a favorite breading and bake, then top with a spegetti or pizza sauce.

Hello all, I stumbled upon this site while looking for a rational eating program, and thought I would give it a try. A little about myself, I am a 40 yr old married male. I was overweight my entire life, and in 2000, I hit 400lbs and decides if I wanted to be happy or ever have sex, I would have to ...
