From second hand knowledge of a brother who lifts: Lift heavy to make big (noticeable) muscles. KB is a lot like SG in that the activity makes you "farm strong", i.e., endurance musculature. Doing "sprint" like activity like running or blasting it out on the eliptical in intervals will also trigger ...

In! [I am back after a long, long time] My goals are: 1.) Re-boot with Vanilla No-S, with the added sprinkle of mindful sugar consumption on weekends. Hypoglycemia requires the extra attention. I like the idea of having Sugar events tied with a meal. 2.) Posting on the BB at least twice weekly. :) ~...

Shamrock, I have been trying out a modified eating pattern like the paleo. I call it herder-gatherer, since I use dairy in the form of cheese and homemade yogurt. This is to control my hypoglycemia. I have been sugar free (except a little splenda and stevia here and there) for three weeks. Basically...

We have a similar system for keys, but cuter. I found a 20 inch tall statue of St. Francis who is holding a small dish. Designed to be a bird feeder/garden dweller. We parked him by the front door (or on the kitchen table, temporarily) so when we walk in, the car & house keys are automatically dropp...

I have been doing what Reinhard suggested. Having a small spreadsheet of SG moves along with additional legs/arms/abs or whatever nearby keeps me on track. I don't check them off; I just look at them as I move. I can usually remember what I've done from day to day (from feeling sore) so I skip those...

Welcome Laurie, I'm in OK, to! Maybe we could do a No-S meetup? The hungries are nothing to be afraid of... In my case, if I eat a full plate of good food, I'm alright for 5 hours. Getting to bed at a reasonable time (before 10:30 pm) will curb evening hungries. Otherwise, your body will learn that ...

New Shugger here, too. I wear shoes, just because that is a habit of mine. Shoes=Activity. No Shoes=Relax. However, I did nearly 9 years of ballet, plus adult classes in yoga & other dancey stuff, all wearing no shoes or slippers. Shugging feels like the gym-type moves for me, therefore, shoes. I'm ...

Sort of No-S Diet Testimonial
Placing this story here, because this happened before my husband and I discovered No-S. When we were first married (summer of 2006), my husband was about 25 pounds heavier than he is now. I called it "huggable", really it was overweight. So, after our wedding, Jeff slowly dropped those 25 pounds by ...

Evolutionary Biology?
I have been reading "Mindless Eating" this week and came across the example of Evolutionary Biology. The basic gist is that the human genome is programmed to pack in the calories during the autumn because the "starving" months of March and April were ahead. No-S folks: Do you notice it harder to los...

Maybe you all could help me with a nice pun or alliteration for a pre-habit building exercise. Let me give an example: I bought a daily planner (moleskine) for 2009. It does not start until January 1st. Instead of waiting until then, for the month of December I will just carry the new planner with m...

You shouldn't feel bad about the tea or coffee! Just put in "what it takes" to make it usable for you. The main point of the drinks is that you can fix'em the way you want 'em. Soda, bottled stuff, juices, the sugar levels are already fixed. Fake sweetners just make you hungrier for the real stuff. ...

My weakness, I'm coming to see, is that I do not consume enough breakfast. Then I got the ravaging hungries, ate a muffin or had hot cocoa half way through the morning. Blah! Hi all, A blogging friend recommended the EDS site to me yesterday. I was so relieved to see it! So a little about me... A married lady, of the late twenties variety, no children, one cat, work in a library. Yeah, that type of lady. ;) The husband lost 25 pounds during the first six months of our ma...
