Something strange I just realized. While I sometimes eat a handful of M&Ms or reese's pieces, I almost never have any other sweets -- even on S days. I don't eat ice cream or cake, and I didn't even have pie on Thanksgiving. But oddly, I never feel like I'm depriving myself either, and half the time...

12/6: sweets fail: I tried one of my wife's M&Ms. They were peanut butter, which I had never had, and I was curious.

Lots of craziness in the past month. Had a few slip ups, but I can't remember what they were and I did a poor job of tracking. Rest assured, I have been regularly shoveling and doing my best to keep up with no-s, but I am going to have to start fresh with the tracking portion of it. So today: 11/23:...

9/20: seconds fail. Co-worker and I had a frozen pizza for lunch, and I grabbed two extra slices without even thinking about it. I need to have more discipline in this respect. I feel like I've been doing this without even realizing it. On the bright side, I have begun walking much, much more, which...

8/27, 8/30, 8/31: shovelglove failure. Friday I skipped because I spent the entire day setting up for a wedding reception. I probably could have squeezed it in once I got home, but I also had to be up early on Saturday and decided I'd prefer sleep. Monday and Tuesday were just products of the fact t...

This is, I believe, my fifth or sixth week back at shovelglove. Funny thing happened when I did my routine today: I felt a surge of endurance, as though I was swinging a 4 pound sledge. I did break a sweat, but overall it didn't feel nearly as difficult as it was even last week. It's strange to expe...

sherlock's check-in

I've been around here for a couple years, posting infrequently and exclusively in the shovelglove section. Figured I should start a check in page to keep myself honest (and so in a few months I can look back and figure out what was happening.) Clean first few weeks. *** Wed, 8/4/2010: seconds failur...

When I first picked it up I had that problem a couple of times. I just made sure to keep a close eye on my form to avoid this strain, and to do the movements slower. That seemed to help me. Haven't had any problems since.

Good to hear you are enjoying it.

I've posted here occassionally in the past. I first took up this activity back in December of 08. I did it fairly frequently until October of last year. Along these same lines, I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks. It's only for five days, but I am not bringing the sledge. I'm torn between marking it as a yellow or a red. Questions from an outsider...

I am not a -- I hope this is the right term -- shovelglover. At least not yet. But I am looking for a new program that I can do from home. From the looks of it, shovelglove will give me functional strength. That is very important. But I am also a man. I don't want to look like a bodybuilder, but I d...
