Leafy-greens, I do IF only 2Xweek. My hours grow closer only on IF days. They should be about 24 hours ( I always eat dinner those days), and started out that way, but lately I've been closing the IF hours to 19 or 20 before I eat something like a piece of fruit before dinner. My Mid East family does yogurt the old-fashioned way: Heat 1 qt of whole milk (you can use 2% but it will be thinner) in a saucepan just until it starts to boil -watch carefully for boil-over. Cool the milk either by placing pan in cold water or the longer way of leaving it on counter top. Stir it n...

To reneew, I hear you when you talk about teenagers in the house eating your leftovers. Saying you licked your food is hilarious, altho' I'm not so sure it would work at my house! It seems I have had teenagers in the house for many years as I've had six kids widely spaced at times. One shameful inci...

... no more heartburn. No late night cleanup after dessert on weekdays. No more diet books. My husband nows calls me "Tiny Hiney" ( really, it's not all that tiny but why argue?). I feel in control when I don't reach for food when life hands me a lemon. I can move faster. I can now wear more clothes...

banana cream pie
Yeah, I knew that would get your attention. I made one of those over the weekend and there were leftovers. Now, I was determined not to eat any come Monday and since my daughter was going to make it for our monthly get together in a couple weeks it was resistable. But come Monday, I awoke with a sor...

Hi Jeanne, I answered your other post about breakfast but I'll go into more detail. First off, I know it's harder to drop weight as you get older. I could remember strenuous dieting for a week to drop 5-10 lbs whenever needed. Not anymore as I'm in my 50's. I couldn't do that nor would want to now a...

Jeanne, What size are your plates? I eat off of an 8 1/2 luncheon plate for dinner and lunch. Sometimes for lunch I'll even eat from a dessert plate. I could still fit a sandwich and several chips on it. My breakfasts consists of a small bowl of cold cereal with whole milk or hot cereal. I'm rather ...

Marianna, I also followed the same hunger/fullness path for years. It was a mental struggle wondering if when I ate and what I ate would throw my hunger off schedule for mealtimes. That's why I enjoy No S and I'm more successful on it too. My mealtimes coincide with yours. I am usually hungry in the...

Doudou, I read were you said you didn't make your grandmom's birthday a special day. I, who am also one, speak for all grandma's when I say, "Please don't do that!" If you had planned granny's day to be special, you could have eaten two slices of cake and felt good vs. one slice of cake and marking ...

I have done the opposite in that for years I rarely weighed myself hoping my weight would become less of an issue. But I steadily gained about 30 pounds doing that or should I say not doing that. It really is an individual thing I think. I weigh myself every Friday morning after I get up and visit t...

Hi geekmom, I also plan what esses I will eat on weekends to avoid clunking myself on the head and saying, "I could have had a ____!" (fill in the blank with anything but a V 8 ) I put goodies in the freezer and packaged goodies out of sight so come the weekend, I just need to look on my calender Ha...

I bought a huge box of the Quaker instant oatmeal packets that were flavored (Banana Bread, Cinnamon Roll etc...). They have so much sugar in them. I poured the packet in a coffee strainer with small holes and sifted out the sugar. I got more than 2 tsp out of 1 small packet! The remaining oatmeal s...

Aya, I've done many diets, 10 years of intuitive eating, but No S is the one I feel I can stick with. I have for two months so far and lost 11 pounds. And that includes in those two months, 4 failure days, 3 NWS days and VERY enjoyable weekends. And yes, it is restrictive during the week. Afterall, ...
