First week on S and lost 5 pounds.

I think that this is just because I am beginning and have so much to loose. I certainly don't think I will keep that up nor would I want to. But it is a great start! I had listened to some of Michael Pollan's stuff and few ideas resonated with me. The "experts and diet gurus" don't always have the a...

Remember a long time ago the motto was "no snacking because it would spoil your appetite." Mothers worried that their kids would not eat come dinner. Now the snacks are indeed heavily promoted. I remember my own mother not allowing us to eat after school because she was afraid we would not eat dinne...

Flightisleavin daily check-in

I am toying with the idea of starting a blog. Right now I will do the daily check in. It seems to make a difference just to check in. June 23: B: 1 slice bacon, 1 mini bagel with 1/2 tsp of regular cream cheese, 1 medium egg scrambled, 1 espresso coffee with whole milk foam. L: Lean hamburger cooked...

Same here. I always wondered why it was considered a "healthy" snack because I could never just eat a peice of fruit by itself without feeling hungry.

Not eating sweets results in eating more fruits.

I have noticed that when I don't eat sweets I eat more fruits and they taste a lot sweeter. I am talking about eating fruit as part of a meal and not as a snack. Eating fruits is a challenge for me and I really do think they are nature's food. We are meant to eat them. A chocolate bar is much easier...

Hello to bluebunny, hotmailmamma, Jenenglish, Mimi and Reinh

Nice to meet and post with all of you. I have been poking around the boards and there is a ton of great info. I decided that for me it is learning to eat moderate portions and how that looks on a plate. In addition to purchasing the S book I took Reinhard's suggestion to cook from regular recipes an...

Lovinlee: I get exactly how you feel. When I was (for the thousandth time) looking over the diet books on Amazon I wanted one where if you were to ask me the question "Could you see yourself doing this forever and I mean forever?" and I could answer yes, then I would be willing to buy the book and t...

Thanks for the welcome Winnie96 and Reneew. Winnie - that is exactly how I used to think when I semi did this plan - since I it would be 11 o'clock at night before I would finally get my dinner (if I had to prepare it myself) I would say to the heck with it and just get a big bad meal. I feel like t...

Newbie to No S Diet first post

I was on Amazon looking at a gazillion diet books (some find their way to Malaysian skyscrapers but I end up on Amazon looking at diet books). The diet books were awful, awful, awful. Eat all you want except for....the list is endless. UNTIL I notice the S diet. I was not planning to buy but.... Thi...
