I will definitely make foods that are as healthy as is pallatable, but I'm not sure about having the appetizers be dinner. We're teachers, so after work means 3:00... I've gotten pretty good at not snacking in between meals, but not eating from 4 p.m. until the next morning's breakfast (most likely ...

Planned failure?

Things are going really well for me on No S - I'm down 7 pounds in my first 2 weeks - and I'm working hard to avoid things that are pitfalls for me. Friday night I'm having some friends over and we'll be having snacks and drinks. Obviously, Friday is not an S-day, but I know I'm not going to sit the...

There are only 2 reasons I don't chew gum; I'm a teacher (and that's just gross), and I have TMJ so it actually hurts to chew more than a few minutes. If not for those 2 things I would chew it ALL the time because it totally helps keep hunger away. If you don't have any of those issues and it helps,...

I couldn't disagree more. I feel like they're doing something totally unrealistic and (even with medical advice) potentially dangerous. Especially now -- the last two seasons they've had the biggest people ever -- +/- 500 pounds. That's what I mean, though. I think it sets up unrealistic expectatio...

As a teacher, lunch is set for me at 11:15 a.m. My husband, a teacher and coach, is at school late every day, so dinner isn't usually until 7:45 p.m. Not only could I not be successful at a diet that forced me to go 8 waking hours without eating, it's just not healthy. So I plan a forth mini-meal of...

My health goals are related to my weight - we're trying to get pregnant and weight can have a big negative impact on that - so it makes sense to weigh in often. I weigh myself every weekday morning at the end of my bathroom routine, without clothes. I don't weigh myself on S-days because it seems co...

I can't watch that show... it makes me feel like if I'm not putting in the amount of effort they are I don't deserve to lose weight.

I'd love to see some of the contestants from the first couple of seasons, though. I can't imagine anyone keeping up that lifestyle for very long.

It might not be the healthiest thing you ever ate, but it's not breaking any No-S rules. I'm still new to this, but I'm filling my plates with an embarrassing amount of food and just not finishing it (my husband or the dog take care of that for me). Right now it's about 2 things: 1.) Having enough f...

This is why I'm starting slow! I'm cutting out seconds this week, sweets, next week and then snacks. I'm hoping that by the time I get to no snacks I will have adjusted some. However, I am going to plan a mini-meal on Non-S days because my school schedule means I eat lunch really early and my husban...

Weekdays (start times) Breakfast: 7:30-7:45 Lunch: 11:15-11:30 Dinner: 7:30-7:45 Obviously there's a big gap between lunch and dinner - I'm a teacher so, lunch can't be moved, and my husband gets home at 7:30, so dinner can't be moved. I'm considering adding a mini-meal in the middle but restricting...

I'm not telling anyone, except perhaps my husband, because I'm doing this for me, not anyone else. I might share with friends who are dieting after I see some success, but I'm not sure. Dieting people tend to be among the most judgmental and I don't need that! They also often take it upon themselves...

For me these are a point of weakness, so I'm going to make them S day items only. Bagels and english muffins are okay, but not scones or coffee cake because I will over indulge on those. Honestly, it's hard to imagine eating those things more than 2 days a week while considering myself a healthy eat...

Count me in!

I'm new to No S, so I'm starting a bit late, but I think this challenge is going to be a great help. I'm going to ease into my No S year by adding an S rule each week. We still have food in the house from the holidays that my husband won't let me throw out, so I'm slowly and systematically bringing ...
