Vegetarian, general reduced calorie.

Got out a paleo book from the library but then woke up and remembered that I like being able to eat with others and started doing No-S instead.

I've been telling myself this a lot recently - even on S Days because I like being hungry at meal time.

28 days in!

I'm finishing week 4 of No-S. I've never made it past 3 weeks before, so this is exciting. There are some things I've done differently this time. 1. I read the book. There are so many good hints and guidelines in there. This time I understood how tasting food I was cooking, drinks between meals, and...

unsupportive relatives

My mom is coming this weekend, to stay for 10 days, and she spends all day encouraging me to snack. How have you kindly dealt with such relatives? I'm planning on 1) not mentioning No-S at all and 2) saying, "I don't want to spoil my appetite" when she pushes food. If that fails, I'll drink tea all ...

I need to think about this. My mom is coming to visit and I find it so hard not to snack when she's around.

I think it actually bothers her if I don't snack. Sigh.

This probably isn't your problem, but... Have you looked at the size of your plates? A lot of plates people buy nowadays are really huge. The plates we inherited from Grandma are about 1" smaller in diameter than the plates we bought, and I chose the smallest dinner plate size in the store. To put t...

How long did you do no-S for? I'm reading the book for the first time, and he tells us to focus on perfect N-days and that the S-days will come. I am letting myself eat ANYTHING I want on S-days but focusing on N-day behavior. I even made a pan of fudge last weekend. :-) BUT the leftover fudge is no...

could call this "The Food Tastes Good Diet"

... because food tastes good when you're not already stuffed! I wonder how much junk we eat in the US because we're so stuffed ALL THE TIME that the foods we eat have to be unnaturally sweet/salty/fatty for them to be enticing. When I follow no-S (like last week), all my meals are appetizing, includ...

OK, I want to join up. I need a 21-day in-a-row of on-it eating. I feel healthier, sleep better, and am more productive, all while being happier, while doing no-s. Why would anyone sane want to live their life around food??? 2/19 - great! Yay! Why do I ever stop? 2/20 - great again! 2/21 2/22 2/23s ...

It is the 17th and I'm joining back up. I had about 10 really good days, then used my mom's visit as an excuse to snack... and snack... and keep snacking... So, I am going to do pure no S for the rest of the month. A cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of tea in the afternoon are OK for me beside...

Alright, I stopped no-s-ing and it was completely my fault. I made excuses and decided I'd rather eat than feel good and fit into my clothes. Time to start back again. We have a party to go to tomorrow night, so I'll have a sweet there, but skip seconds or snacks the rest of the day and the rest of ...

So, first all-out red day, but it still wasn't a total loss. So, non-compliance but not a binge. I snacked before lunch and after lunch, but I skipped the almond croissant my mom shared with my kids before dinner and the chocolates my husband brought out tonight. I didn't take seconds at any meal. I...

I wonder how much pregnancy weight gain that stays on long term is due to bag habits acquired while pregnant, not the baby weight...

I just left my HabitCal blank on the day I didn't completely succeed. I didn't feel like it was a RED failure day because I ate an appetizer with dinner. Tuesday - success

I'm getting into the swing of things. Even have sweets around the house and haven't gotten into them.

Weekend plus - decided granola bar wasn't worth it.

So, today went OK. Traveling with the kids - a situation where I normally snack on lots of sweets.

Good - didn't snack, didn't eat sweets.

Bad - got appetizer at meal and didn't put it on plate before eating (and ate most of it on my own). So it ended up being more like meal-and-a-half.

seasoning while cooking

Hi all, I'm a day-5 no-ser. Today I made soup for my family and had to season it. I finally put it in my mouth to taste, figured out how much seasoning was needed, and then spit it out. What do you do? I'm a person who needs think black lines. I think my head would devise all sorts of work-arounds i...

Renee, I'm just starting no-s so I need to do it "plain vanilla", but I'm rooting for you. It is sort of startling to realize how much time is taken up thinking about and talking about food (and then, oddly, if you think about it, thinking and talking about being thin). I think no-s is liberating in...

I get what you mean about saying "sugar-addict" - it could be a way to say I'm not to blame for eating way too much sugar.

Today went well. My meals were really tasty, probably because I was actually hungry.

OK, baby is 9 months old and it is time to get my rear back into my jeans. We've moved recently and I don't have time to exercise like I used to, but I can walk everywhere in the new neighborhood.

Thankfully, No S doesn't take extra time!!! Yay!

So, tomorrow is Day 1.

Those persistent 15 pounds

Here's my story: mom of three, always aware of food body, but more likely to binge than eat healthy despite awareness! I'm about 15 pounds over my comfortable weight, so that's my goal. That, and not living my day centered around food! I'm jumping in with two feet tomorrow (and didn't take seconds o...
