It seems like everywhere I go, most people are talking about their health and fitness goals for the coming year. I decided to write mine in the blog:
http://ladieswhonos.blogspot.com/2012/0 ... -2012.html
There are a couple of other things I'm working on, but this is the NoS bit.

Actually, I've been hearing more and more lately about how the idea that we store fat when we sleep is wrong - that sleep is actually prime fat burning time. I've also have no problem with the morning hours, but find that noon - 6.30 pm stretch a long time. I've been hearing that more protein at bre...

Oatmeal isn't filling for me unless it has plenty of cream and butter in it. But as far as hunger goes, I go by my own knowledge of my own body. I know when it's just ordinary hunger that gnaws at my stomach for a few minutes and goes away and the feeling that tells me I must eat. I don't get it oft...

I'm with wosnes. I could fit my whole day's worth of food on one plate if I really wanted to. As long as it doesn't overfill the plate*, I just go by what fits in my stomach, rather than what fits on my plate. Today, btw - is taco day. Wonder who is having tacos...? I had chili for lunch and now for...

I was in the mood for a seriously chocolatey dessert this weekend, so I made this: http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/28218/NESTL%C3%89-TOLL-HOUSE-Chocolate-Chip-Pie/detail.aspx Psst...I like this recipe ...but I don't use their chips. I do better if I don't eat - in other words, have a drink. I either have tea (with whole milk in it ) or occasionally, hot chocolate - which I make with whole milk, a teaspoon of cocoa and slightly less sugar. I figure it's probably less than many people would put on a bowl of cereal, and it's not a...

Those afternoon hours have always been tough for me. At first I thought it was not eating enough at lunch. And that was a problem, since I was getting a bit woozy - but it was easily remedied. Then I thought it was habit. But after a few weeks, i realized it was more than that. I was actually tired,...

I use a normal sized plate with a 'normal' (for me) amount of food. The size of the plate doesn't influence me to eat any more or any less. That said, I don't eat much so I often choose a smaller plate so my food doesn't look so lonely :) We have some plate photos on our website - in several differe...

Two things really helped me. Rather than exchanging one sweet for another, I have reduced my taste for sweetness. It's been a gradual process, but it's been really good for me in many ways. I use this recipe for baked oatmeal http://sunandsalt.blogspot.com/2010/11/baked-oatmeal.html It includes an extra step to soak the oats overnight - which helps nutrition since oats are very high in anti-nutrients that soaking helps to neutralize. I also use the meal planning suggestion on this site.

I also enjoy cooking and eating good food. I spend quite a lot of time and money on what I cook/eat, which is one of the things I like about No S. I think it depends on which 'experts' you choose to listen to. They are always contradicting each other. My personal feeling is that the expert on my body is...my body. If I'm not hungry, I don't eat. Most of the time, though, I am hungry for breakfast - just not necessarily right when I wake up. So...

I have to agree with you. Chronic dieters are used to complex rules and points and food lists - this may seem too simple to work without other restrictions and encourage mods where none are really needed. Sure, some may need those tweaks and mods, but a good vanilla base will clarify where mods need...
