Ok so this will be my first official week, in over six months, of going back to marking my HabitCal's with Red and Green's again.. Incandescent Light bulbs banned by 2014 :(
I just heard about the Congresses bill which is going to be signed into law, which will ban incandescent bulbs in favour of CFL and Halogen bulbs, starting next year.. by 2014 there will be no more production of incandescent light bulbs. I am very upset about this and plan on hoarding them this year...

New testimonial almost 2 years back with NoS :)
Hi all, I actually joined NoS in 2005, and was a member of the original Yahoo Message Boards.. I lost almost 30 pounds by 2007, with probably only about 70 percent compliance in both diet and daily exercise. After my Dad passed away in Spring of 2007 I became really depressed for a year or two and j...

Thanks Marc, I'm one of those people who starts shaking after a few seconds, but that's cos I'm 240 lbs and haven't done abdominal exercises for years, and planks are hard!!! But I am tired of having a 42 inch stomach, and a back that often feels tight and weak as a result of slack abs.. I'm really ...

Hey Marc, I just wanted to congratulate you on how well you have been doing :) Also, I came by to ask you about planks, and I see you have been doing fantastically with them! I tried to do them last year when Richie was doing them in school as part of his cross country track and field team training,...

good luck with this! i think that when you have a failure, and then think, "well if i failed why not just give up all together and eat whatever and however much now, that i want" is a kind of "self punishment" really... not just "giving in"... you don't wanna punish yourself.. if you have a failure,...

Hi Everyone :) I have had a very tumultuous month this May.. we moved from our apartment, back to my Moms.. its a long story, but suffice it to say, I was very lax about keeping track on my habitcals for the last few weeks since then. My habits for diet have still be fairly good, tho i cant attest t...

Good luck Mo! I heard something once on a tape which I found helpful. Losing weight, in a really sustainable way, is like getting a college degree. There are some days that are good and some that are total disasters, but as long as you stick with it, eventually, you will get there, even with the dis...

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your responses! :) Kathleen, I totally know where you are coming from, and have had my "moments" in the past few years, where I'd be feeling like I'm getting nowhere fast, and then, I'd think for about 5 seconds, of trying something more "diet-y", because, yes, i...

My one year testimonial for NoS 2009-2010
Testimonial time!!! I'm very excited and figured that this was testimonial page worthy :) I started NoS years ago, and had a lot of success with it, but then I had a setback for a few years and unfortunately gained back almost all that I lost. So I recommitted to it about 16 months ago, and started ...

"Boy! These beets are really good!" -- beets? That's not at all like me to sing praises of beets. . Hahah funny, i just baked my first fresh beet last night and ate it plain.. It was soooooo good!!! :) I think there's a quote on Reinhard's home page about beets as well, Haha, we can form the NoS Be...

Ok quick update.. Last weigh in was March 25th.. i had lost 3 lbs over the prior 2 weeks... Since then, my Son had his 14th Birthday, and that week we definitely had a lot of treats..We got the most yummy cake ever and I didn't dump the leftovers, so we had a few red days that week. So I gained a po...

There's about a ten minute lag time between when you are physically full and when your brain senses you are full.. Why not try pacing yourself a bit, and pausing mid-plate for five mins and have some water.. go slower and see when that full feeling hits you.. I don't wanna say skimp on your plate, b...
